Was up all last night being sick with the stomach flu or food poisoning or SOMEthing nasty. I emailed my teacher at about 6am to say I wasn''t going to be able to make it to class, and I''m supposed to be submitting my rough draft of my 6000-6500 word essay today (by noon, it''s 7:30am, hahah) but I only have 4300 words!

So, I feel sick and have tons of stuff to do but don''t feel up to it, but the WORST part about being sick is having the BF 200 miles away and not able to do anything to help take care of me!

Being sick when you''re alone just really sucks. Not that I live of pity or anything, but when I''m sick, I need a little extra TLC, y''know what I mean? And he''s too far away to make me a cup of tea or stroke my hair until I fall asleep and stuff like that. Long-distance relationships are hard in general, but I always feel especially far away from him when I''m feeling sick and just want him to be around to give me extra luvs.

Can''t wait to crawl back into bed. Still feeling queasy but I have GOT to get more words done on this stupid paper! Ugh. Thanks for letting me have a bit of a whinge.

Sorry your not feeling well.. I know exactly what you mean about the needing extra tlc and having a distant SO. When your sick, the fact that hes not there just smacks ya in the face..

But isnt it the best feeling in the world when you get that first kiss and big hug after a time apart?

I hope you get a chance to get some good rest in and maybe after that you will have the strength to get your paper done. Def gotta make sure you get rest!

Feel better soon!!!

Oh Gwen, I feel your pain! I had a horrible cold last week and just when I thought I had gotten over the stupid thing my asthma started to get bad. And then it got really bad. Really really bad! To the point where I ended up in the emergency room for many hours on Sunday night.

Now I''m so drugged up my body doesn''t know what to do. The steroids help the lung inflammation but they make me agitated and I will pace the house endlessly. To combat that they gave me some cough syrup with VICODIN in it to make me sleepy. Except that just makes me feel a bit loopy and dizzy, so I stumble around like I''m drunk while I''m pacing the house.

Right now it is 12:01 AM and I know I have to be at work in fewer than seven hours. Yet I can''t sleep. At least I have a very very wonderful kitty that is willing to keep me company.

sorry to hear that you''re not feeling well Gwendolyn

Just think of this as a means to an end and you''ll be with your man in a couple of months. I know that it doesn''t make it any easier now but the end is in sight. Sending bucketloads of hugs and I hope that you feel better soon.

Thank you, ladies. You can always make me feel better, even when I''m way down deep in the dumps.

I pushed and got just over 5000 words on my paper and sent it in. It''s only a rough draft! I know I have more work to do on it, and that was as much energy as I had! Ended up skipping my class, which I HATE doing--mostly because my education here is costing me so much money.

But I really needed to get a bit of sleep, so once I finished the paper, I went right back to bed instead of to class! One of my friends is gathering notes for me.

I think J *might* be coming down to see me this weekend, so that gives me some TLC to look forward to--hopefully I won''t still be sick by then (that''d be kinda nasty), but if I am, it will be better to be sick with him around. (haha, poor dude, that won''t be any fun for him

Tell him that in order to feel better you will need:

1. Three back rubs daily
2. Foot rubs on demand
3. Food served to you on the couch

Those three things always make me feel so much better!

Hehe, I know I can get the first two with no problem, but I have no couch in my tiny little college room!

He will just have to be flexible and serve me in bed.

Sorry you don''t feel well

If it makes you feel better my SO wouldn''t be stroking my hair as I feel asleep if I''d just been sick, he''d probably be heaving his guts up in the bathroom! Ha ha!! He doesn''t handle sick well! Remember, the reality is never as romantic as you imagine it

I don''t want to ask the details of what you had, but it''s possible that it was a virus. The same thing hit Maryland, DC, and Pennsylvania. I looked it up and I''m pretty sure it''s the norovirus. It was horrid! I got it 2 weeks ago over the weekend, called out that Monday, went in half day Tuesday only to find out over 30 people at my job had called out Monday. It started as if it were food poisoning and ended like the flu. HORRIBLE!! In other words, I empathize and I hope you feel better soon!

Holy crap, that sounds like it!! I was literally FINE, brushing my teeth, la la la, and then all of a sudden, I felt kinda weird, and BAM, 5 seconds later I was yacking! (Sorry, was that too gory?

) I was sick from Monday night through Tuesday mid-afternoon--only then was I finally able to keep my head out of the toilet for good (I hope). Now I just feel like I've been run over by a few tractors. How long did it last for you?

The weird thing about this is that I'm not in the MD/DC/PA area anymore--I lived in MD most of my life, and visited in December (which is a long time for a virus to incubate, isn't it?), but I'm currently living in England. Guess we've got something similar on this side of the Atlantic. How fun!

J tried to come down to visit early, but he's needed at work today and tomorrow. He will be coming down for an extra day now, though! Friday-Monday, yay!! So that should help me feel better if I'm not well by then.
