I am having a ring made with a 2.88 O/P VS2 OEC in an 18k yellow gold bezel. Sample picture of the setting below. For the small sidestones, I asked Adam to use old European cuts that match the color of the center stone. Should I ask for whiter stones? They’re small and probably won’t make a big difference, but I wonder what others would do. I do want to highlight the warmth of the center stone but I don’t want the ring to look off. Thanks

I have an old mine three stone and the center is an m. Sides are k. It really is not a visible difference unless you look for it or look at a side view. I didn't pick it this way, these are all stones I had already, with the matching sides.

My stones are much bigger than those accents. I don't think I'd try to hunt for low matching melee.

I have an o-p in a halo with g/h melee and it's really not a clash. They don't do much to change the perception of color. I'd go with whatever he can source easier.

Picture of the o-p.

It's really not something that pops. It's all cohesive I think. Two different lighting types .PXL_20230208_191655998.jpgPXL_20230207_213912303.jpg

Your ring is stunning! Thank you for the comparisons. I am probably overthinking it per usual. It didn’t sound like it would be hard for him to match the stones (he offered), so I’ll just leave him alone and let him proceed with what we agreed!

I have a similar sized GIA N OMC set in a 3 stone with whiter, smaller side stones. The contrast varies depending on lighting but I do think it highlights the color of the N center. However, my 3 stone is set in platinum and in prongs.

Thank you for sharing! Your rings are beautiful!!

It’s all about your personal preference. I prefer to have melee/ sides that blend with a warm center.

This is a before and after pic of my mom's J color emerald cut. The disparity between the center and G color trillions always bugged me so when I reset the emerald cut, I spec'ed J/K color melee.

I also spec'ed warmer melee for the halo of my M color OEC.

Thank you for sharing your stunning rings! I love your style. I agree, with platinum I would personally love for the diamonds to be matched in color.
