Silly question re PayPal friends and family & how it works!

Hi, I just sold a strand of pearls this morning on loupe troop (woohoo!) and buyer paid me immediately via friends and family.

However, I’m not able to see her mailing address on the transaction slip on PayPal.

I’ve already emailed her also to let me know her shipping address, but just wanted to check on here also if in case I’m just been technologically challenged and not seeing something really obvious!

(In the past when buyers have used non friends and family I’ve always been able to see their shipping address)

From what I recall, paying as FF does not provide the payee to submit a mailing address. You'll just need to wait for them to email it to you.

Yes you’re not supposed to use it for selling so she needs to give that to you separately. As a FYI one of my purchases via F&F was flagged but eventually cleared...

Thanks for the fast response, I really appreciate it! I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something obvious and keeping my buyer waiting unfairly.

No clue cause it was pretty obviously for a purchase based on my memo. They did clear it though.

Call me old but back in the day we would just mail people cash (tucked in a magazine) or money order, even for eBay stuff. Too forever but never had any issues back then. I miss the honor system.

They still get a cut. It's just the sender who pays it

They don't get a cut from Friends and Family paid from bank account.

Buyer has written back and pearls are on their way now to her!

And yes, in case this helps anyone else in the future, apparently friends and family payments do not come with buyer’s address, so remember to ask for it separately!

Since it's Friends and Family, I guess they would think you know the person and therefore also know their address and other contact information.
