Single Rhodolite from Gene

Here are a few pics - they're terrible pictures taken with my iPhone. Must learn how to get good shots of gems! Took a while but I figured out how to get them into the post.

The stone is gorgeous when the light hits it just right and it either completely lights up or scintillates like crazy. A lot of the time, though, it looks dark and has a lot of extinction. I didn't post any of those photos.

I'll try to get shots of some of my other stones. The best ones include a sphene from Tan, an untreated blue topaz from Litnon, a pair of rose quartz from Uli, an amethyst from Dan Stair. Oh! Almost forgot! My first purchase was a pink Vietnamese spinel from ArtCut Gems and I also have a peach tourmaline from Bob Kast -- they are both in rings.

Looks lovely in sunlight, also curious as to what it looks like indoors. You mentioned it was quite dark, do you mean like wine color?

Here are a few pictures. I took all these with my iPhone (which I just got and don't really know much about yet) on the dining room table under the chandelier - you can see its reflection in the photos. They all look a bit bright because they were directly under the lights. A couple are blurry, too - I'll try to get better ones with a real camera.

There has been a rush of great collections being posted lately. I'm loving it! Yours is great. I love all the colors. I love the rhodolite and of course sphene is always so fun.

Thank you! It's a 5 stone ring with an aqua, mahenge pink spinels + zircons, and underneath are red spinels in buttercup earrings. I'll try and make a thread of my mini collection at the weekend if the weather allows it!
