I'm working on some pieces for daily wear, in anticipation of travel, and wanting a YG set.
I have been admiring cluster earrings lately and hope they would be a versatile piece to mix and match with different style pendants and rings.
The studs I own are 6.88mm in diameter and my earlobe could only realistically take an additional 1/2 -1 mm on each ear. Given the cluster earrings would more of an impact than a single stone, I need to work out a sweet spot and calculate the mm size of each stone I need for each earring.
For those who have chosen cluster earrings with larger centres, are the centres considerably larger than the surrounding stones? Would a 0.03pt between difference between the centre and surrounding stones be enough?
I feel such a noob at this
I've also seen different cuts used for cluster earrings, single cut, OEC's, IDJ pricescope quality, and WF ACA's. Does anyone have a preference for a particular vendor for this kind of project please?
My next project will be a 5 stone eternity and I may use OEC's for that project.
I want to have some idea of the size prior to purchasing and not go back and forth with a vendor.
