My e-ring is a size 7.5 and while it fits ok, when it gets cold i''m afraid it will slide off my hand. I have a size 7 wedding ring (not married yet so its still in the box) that fits well. I think my e-ring needs to be sized to a 7 also, although since it sits higher on my hand maybe a 7.25

The problem is I dont have anywere to take it to be sized (i live out of the country and dont know how to find a good jeweler her). I will be back in the US but the place I would normally take it cant do it in the short amount of time I will be there. I''m hesitant to take it to another place, as I dont want the platinum ring to get messed up in the sizing. Would having sizing balls put in be a better solution? Are these easier to put in with less risk to the ring? What about to remove?
Are they comfortable?

Thanks!

another question, how exactly should a ring fit? when its warm it fits fine, but when its cold it can slide over the knuckle pretty easy. but then if its smaller it would be too tight when its hot right? any sizing tips?

Cali,

The sizing process is usually not very difficult and can be done fairly quickly. Your jeweler may be quite busy and the problem is one of scheduling around their other clients. Many such shops are happy to make appointments for this kind of service and will be willing to do the work while you wait.

I echo both Neil''s and Steve''s comments and suggestions.

My wife''s ring size varies almost a full size fron season to season. After getting tired of having to to resize it a few times a year, I installed a butterfly spring (horseshoe sizer) and now it fits and doesn''t spin 24-7-365.

Dave,

Could you post a picture of this? Is this something she can adjust herself as needed?

Still spinning here 24-7-365.

Dave,

Thank you for posting that picture. I appreciate you taking the time to do that. Now to ask my jeweler.... :-)

Cali,

Same problem here.

We had "shank pads" instead of balls soldered in. They are easily removeable should that become necessary. Don''t notice them at all.
