I can't stand lil bumpy things on my skin. Currently, I have a skin tag like thing right next to my eye. I was going to find a dermatologist or whatever to remove it but my guess is they'd probably call it a "surgery" and charge me a lot of money. Not sure about that but I'd rather handle it myself if possible anyway. I see a lot of "skin tag removal" potions and tools on Amazon but I don't know anything about them. Any ideas?

It depends on how close to the eye it is. A dermatologist can burn it off if it’s not too close to your eye. You can also clip it off yourself with sharp cuticle scissors if it’s in another area of your body if you’re steady handed. They do bleed a lot if you do that but sterilize the scissors with isopropyl alcohol first. Watch all the doctors and nurses on here yell at me. :lol:I tell my doctor I do it and she laughs at me.

I am not tough enough to snip it off with a pair of scissors but I hugely admire you for it! :lol-2:

I am thinking about trying some kind of potion but don't know which kind.

I clipped one off my neck with nail clippers when I was in my fifties. It never grew back!
I don’t think there’s really a potion for it. You could try wart remover to see if that works by taking a bit off each time. I think you may just need to wait until you get a bunch of them because they charge by the group for one fee!

This is just my opinion, and my experience.
Apply ice to numb the area and snip it off with super sharp cuticle scissors, as @MamaBee suggested.
It might bleed, but so what, the little bastard will be gone! I've done this many times.
You can all yell at me now!

If you can pinch it tight with a fingernail it will lose the blood supply and fall off. I have lots of skin tags and I tie them off with thread till they die.

My son said he pulled one off on his eyelash line. :eek2: It came off without a mark!

I have had success in putting apple cider vinegar on a cotton ball and then applying saturated cotton ball to skin tag, making sure to get whole skin tag damp. Do this morning and night, and usually within 2-3 weeks it will drop off/shrink to nothing. If skin tag is larger, it may take longer. It's never failed me. The apple cider vinegar aroma is strong when applying but then basically disappears.

Watch out putting wart remover by your eye :eek2:

Yes to clipping it off with a nail clipper (ice or ambasol to numb first)

HI:

Skin is very delicate around the eye. No pulling, scissors or goop--no one wants scars or inflammation, etc.

It isn't surgery--people will yell now I recommend letting a pro remove it. Early Christmas present to yourself--as you said it is bothering you.

cheers--Sharon

Hey, OP, just realized your skin issue is very near your eye -- I echo others who say, please, see an eye doctor or a skin doctor to get expert advice, including correct identification of what it is and how best to treat/eliminate it.

Definitely do not try my suggested apple cider vinegar remedy in an area near your eye or on your eyelid -- I've only used it on skin tags on my neck and trunk.

The dermatologist might be able to freeze it off with cryotherapy which is safe..Depends on the skill level of the dermatologist. Please do not attempt to remove it yourself

That was the word I was trying to remember! I said burn it off because it burns when she does it..but she freezes it off! Yes..I wouldn’t do it myself near my eye but other places are okay for me. I’ve been doing it for a long time. It beats waiting for an appointment to my dermatologist for three months. I would never do it on my face though..

This! Has worked for me every single time! Including by my eye—off to the side not on eyelid or on top of the eye!! If you want to accelerate the process, wear a band-aid around the soaked cotton ball. And swap it out every couple of hours. This works!

I had a lot of skin tags removed last year. Probably about 100. Maybe more. They were burned off by my esthetician friend.
