Okay, here''s the deal. Most of you know about my upcoming purchase of my radiant. My guy at WF is telling me it''s very thin out here, radiant-wise. Now, because I want my stone when I can get it (does that make sense? I can pay for it in full as of March 16th...) I don''t want to have to wait. I know WF has great stones. Now I am wondering if I should just get a RB, or cushion, or EC if we still can''t find a radiant I love. I know this is a stupid stupid greedy bratty thought. I just have waited so long to get the E-ring, and to fill the setting we''ve had for months, somebody smack me down. I can wait, I can wait. Right?

Amber: Yes, basic greed starts now

. Amber you have waited x number of years for the engagement. You can get through this. If you always wanted a radiant, you are going to kick yourslef later. Not to mention stare at a NON-Radiant for the rest of your life! A few months compared to the rest of your life...NO NON RADIANT YOUNG LADY! We'll get you through this. It's a huge purchase, so patience...patience (I know, I hate that word too)

Amber, is a radiant what you really want? If so, you should wait. However, if you are indifferent between a radiant, RB, cushion or whatever, than maybe look to see if you can find a different stone that you love.

Your perfect radiant will come, just you wait! Have you talked to the guy at James Allen? I found what sounded like a really pretty stone over there yesterday. I thought about paging you with it, but figured you had a couple already lined up.

Ebree, I don''t really have anything lined up at the moment.

And I DO want my radiant. And I don''t really think I''m being THAT picky! I just want a more rectangular stone, instead of a princess shaped one. Something about the princess doesn''t sit right with me. I DO want a radiant, I DO! I will have to have *shudder* patience. I hate that word, too, Allycat. It''s just that I want it NOW! Sorry, Veruca Salt moment. And hey, if I have to wait a little longer, I can get a bigger stone, from saving more money! Ha ha !! I must wait. I must. It''s so sad, I sit here with my little specs sheet on what measurements a radiant should have, and I check every single one of them. It take time. And I love WF, and trust them immensely. Especially my guy, Ron. He''s been very good about telling me why a certain stone isn''t that good, and that with the setting we have, X stone may need a different girdle... Which I value immensely, because I still need SOME help despite my PS knowledge.

They''re pretty thin on Round Brilliants right now too, you''re probably best waiting either way.

SMACK!

Wait for it. And in the meantime distract yourself, maybe with wedding related planning?

Ha ha ha. Thanks Wren, and Jeremy. I think I will wait for it. Bah humbug. At least we have a month set for our wedding. November ''07. A freakin'' decade after we first met. Cripes On a different subject (having to do with Smack), my BF and I were watching a Laker game, and there is a guy named Smush Parker. I told my boyfriend (a couple weeks ago) that my new name was going to be Smack. Smack Brown. He thought that was the funniest thing. Now he calls me Smack.

I kept saying to him, "Hi, I''m Smack Brown, how are you?" And stuff like that.. Lame.

Ya know, I really like the second one, and I think I requested the GIA report on the first one once. I think I may have it around here. You''re such a good help!!!

Amber, I know the waiting sucks but if you settle for something less than exactly what you want you''ll regret it later.

I went though the same thing you are when we were having problems with my setting. Tacori was treating us like crap, our jeweler was pathetic and kept making lame excuses and trying to convince us to just take the ring as it was. Each time it came back wrong I considered canceling the order and just buying an "off the rack" ring rather than waiting another 4 weeks for the recast. My boyfriend had to literally grab me by the sides of my head and look me in the eye and remind me that I have wanted THIS ring for 3 years and I will regret it if I don''t get it. After 4 months its perfect and I''m glad I waited. Although its still sitting on the bookshelf and I''m about ready to smack my boyfriend.

We''re planning to get married in May of 07 and it will be almost exactly 10 years since we met as well :) We''ve earned the pefect ring, dont compromise now. Good luck!!

I agree you should wait for your dream diamond than settle for a different shape. I also agree you should contact a few more jewelers so hopefully someone can find one sooner.

Oh Amber, be patient!! Good things come to those who wait!! You can do it I promise!!
