Dh and I are with Verizon and both have the BlackBerry Storm and HATE it! I would like to stay with Verizon because my whole family and many friends are, so the free minutes within Verizon saves us all a lot of $. DH is threatening to switch to ATT because he thinks the only smartphone worth anything is the I-Phone.
Anyone have a Verizon smartphone that you like?

(and I would love an I-Phone, but hate to leave Verizon....)

I have the Sprint HTC Mogul and love it! I know Verizon had a version of it with a few minor differences. Sprint doesn''t sell my phone anymore since its about 2 years old but they have a couple of new ones from HTC with similar features, just a sleeker design so I''m sure Verizon does also. It has the slide out keyboard, touch screen, and a Windows operating system. DH has a Sprint HTC Snap which is Windows based but no touchscreen or slide out keyboard... its just on the lower part of the phone. He really likes it but I''m partial to my touchscreen so its a personal preference. He also had a sort of pre-Mogul a few years back that was really great. Basically I guess I''m saying anything by HTC is going to be a great phone and I know Verizon carries them! Good luck finding something!

I have the Verizon BlackBerry 8330 and have really good luck with it.

I don''t know because I don''t live in the States, but friends of mine do and they have i-phones and say they love the phones, but AT&T service is so bad. their phones keep dropping the calls.

I got my husband the google phone and loves it. it is very similar to the i-phone. don''t know if Verizon does that one.

I had Sprint for years and FI had Verizon. I desperately wanted an iPhone so I convinced him to switch and get a shared plan together. I love love love my iPhone but the service is TERRIBLE. My Sprint service was decently reliable and FI''s Verizon was definitely really good. He''s still really mad at me that I got him to switch! I''ve heard good things about the Droid and the new HTC google phones at Verizon. You just can''t beat the iPhone apps.

If Apple ever lets Verizon have the iPhone rights, it''s game-over for AT&T. Sure, the 3G service is really, really fast. But that doesn''t really matter when half the time you can''t even get 3G service. I''m going to give it another couple months with AT&T, if the service doesn''t improve, then we''ll cancel our contract and go to Verizon. A comedian on a morning talk radio show summed up the iPhone best: "Love it i, hate the phone."

Verizon is the best. I think we all want an I phone, but having Verizon is more important.
I know someone who just traded his Storm for a Droid. He likes it better, and it enabled him to keep Verizon.
You could have a look at it.
You are right, if Verizon ever gets the Iphone, ATT will be out of business.

Maybe you should hold out...

I think the speed of the 3G service is dependent upon where one lives. We live in the New York area and yes, the speed sucks, but most of the iPhone users are located in New York and San Francisco (I think or San Diego - but it''s one of the two.).

Nate uses a Blackberry and his phone tends to pick up 3G better than my iPhone, and I''ve read that one of the reasons why the iPhone tends to slow down is because of the way Apple designed it. It''s not entirely the fault of AT&T and to honest, I don''t blame them because I know overall, the service is great and that if I go anywhere else, I''m going to have service. I can''t get mad at AT&T because some people use data without thinking about everyone else.

For those that are waiting for Verizon to get the iPhone, it''s likely going to be in 2011 or 2012. However, even if Verizon were to get the iPhone this year or next year, it''s not going to work the same way it does with AT&T. One, you can''t talk and check email or use Safari with the Verizon network. Two, take the phone overseas and it''s basically a paperweight. Verizon and Sprint use CDMA and the rest of the world is on GSM. The iPhone is designed for GSM networks. That leads me to my next point, it wouldn''t be cost effective to design a CDMA version of the iPhone when Verizon and AT&T are planning to transition to long term evolution networks in 2011. When that happens, one iPhone would work on either network.

Now, if Verizon were to get it, I''d say get ready the the network to slow down a bit. I don''t think that many people are going to make the switch because the clear majority of iPhone users were with AT&T before the iPhone was released. I like AT&T and I would consider switching, but it would probably be to Sprint if I did (I highly doubt it, however.) because technologically, Sprint would be a better carrier for the iPhone than Verizon. The only reason people keep speculating that Verizon is going to get a iPhone is because they have the most subscribers, not because their network is supposedly better (it''s not for data, but maybe it is for voice).

Lastly, Verizon billing leaves a lot to be desired.

I also apologize to anyone that doesn''t understand my technology drivel.

I just bought a Verizon Motorola Droid and I LOVE it.

I originally wanted an iPhone, but there weren''t available with Verizon, and Verizon has the only service I''ll use - they''re the only service that I''ve never had a dropped call. So, I went and tried the Droid, and I like it as much, if not better, than the iPhone.

I just heard last night that iPhones may soon be available with Verizon, and I felt a momentary pang, but I still think that I prefer the Droid, because it has a QWERTY keyboard for texting, which the iPhone does not. Also, the camera on my Droid has a flash, and higher megapixels, which the iPhone does not.

I highly recommend the Motorola Droid.

I really want an iPhone, but I have Sprint and they don''t carry them. I did hear that Apple was in talks to open them up to other carriers, so I''ve got my fingers crossed. If I can''t get that, I''ll most likely get a Google Nexus when my plan expires in June. I''m going to then cancel and go onto DH''s plan.

Dh and I both had the HTC Touch Pro through Verizon. We HATED those phones and had nothing but problems. It was a waste of $ to have to spend the extra $30 per month to have the smart phone package when we really couldn't use the features. Anyway, we made the jump to AT&T and got the iPhones. The only regret we have is that we didn't make the change sooner!

If we still had Verizon, I'd check out the Droid...

I''ve had both Verizon and ATT, and I prefer Verizon (although I have ATT now).

I''ve heard many great things about the Droid. Many of my friends have it and love it.

I''ve also heard that Apple''s contract with ATT expires in 2010, and Apple will create an iphone for the Verizon network.

Happy phone hunting!

I left verizon for my iphone and although I loved verizon, I love my iphone more

hubby and I have a family plan with unlimited minutes and it cost us the same as our plan with the friends and family on verizon. actually, me switching to ATT saved us a bit and that included the fee for canceling with verizon before my contract was up.

Blackberry. DH and I were at the point where we were either going to spend more and get iPhones (were with AT&T) or switch to Sprint and both get Blackberries for less than what we were spending for our regular service at AT&T. It wasn''t a difficult call. I love my Blackberry Tour. I have the Curve for work, and it''s OK, but I like the Tour better for the graphics and feel. I''m not big on using a touch screen keyboard.

Hands down .. wait for the Droid Incredible. Amazing reviews so far.

Hi!
I''m new here..
Just wanted to say hello..

We have Verizon and were thinking of switching but my dtr and sil got the I phones and they love the phone but the service stinks, dropped call constantly but they love the apps, A tech friend of mine told me that it is a problem with the phone not the service with at&t. anyway the phones we now use, I think it is called the ENV? I like it.

The i-phone is cool, but we have Verizon and am not interested in changing. That said, I just upgraded from a BlackBerry Curve 8330 to the Storm 2. So far I really like the Storm, I liked the Curve as well. I have been very happy with BlackBerry, and love the BlackBerry Messenger.

For hands-down best DEAL, google "sprint EPRP" and read the specifics of the plan.

I am on a family plan with them which gives 1600 anytime minutes, nights start at 7PM, UNLIMITED TEXT on all lines, UNLIMITED DATA on all lines. The best thing is it includes "any mobile, any time". This means you can call ANY cell phone in the U.S. (sprint, verizon, t-mobile, att, etc.) and it will not count against your anytime minutes no matter the time of day. All this for $110+taxes for both lines per month (lines 3-5 cost $15 extra).

June 4th --> HTC Evo time. first 4g phone in the U.S. I advise you guys to look into this if Sprint has good reception in your area.
If you need help finding out how to get the best deal on Sprint, I will do what I can to help. I don't work for Sprint, just think it is seriously the best deal out there (reception in your area may vary though). Feel free to PM.
