My SO had his ten year high school reunion saturday night. Let''s just start by saying I was the ONLY NON WIFE. After the 25th or so person asked SO who/what I was I replied, "oh.....were just f*****ing." Think I got my point across. (Most of his friends have known me for almost 3 years and were standing around and thought I was quite funny. The asker of the question, not so much. But I don''t think I offended her.) Errr... So much for this virtuous patience.

haha that is too funny, good for you :)

oh my!

i wish i could see the look on their face!

!!

What did your SO think?

P.S. I just went to my FI''s ten year high school reunion and it was awful. Going to a high school reunion that isn''t your own is terrible!

Best. Response. Ever.

Kudos my dear!

And I''m so not going to go to my 10th. And I highly doubt FF will want to go to his either. Lets see...it should be what? Summer 2010? We could be married by then...doubtful but possible.

God I am at 5 yrs now, which is so weird for me. I won''t be going to mine, we might go to SO''s when his rolls around, who knows. I have no desire to see anyone from my highschool so...

THANK GOD my fiance decided against going to his 10 year, so I didn''t have to try to get out of it. We were not engaged at that time and I really didn''t want to go as his girlfriend. I hate the way people don''t take you seriously as "the girlfriend"!

I love your response! Very Carrie Bradshaw. Hopefully your BF got the hint!

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

Oh my goodness. I so would have done the same thing.

Too funny!

GREAT response! Lol!

I went to my fiance''s 10 year. It was horrendous! His class was about 25 people and nearly all of them married a) each other or b) someone from a different class in the same tiny town. I''m shy to begin with and no one really cared who I was, except to know I was an ''outsider.'' It was also my birthday (worst ever, I think)!

I think I''ll drag him to my 10 year, not because I really want to go, but because I want payback!

Thanks for the love ladies! Oh yes, SO got the hint. Not that he needs anymore

I failed to mention the best part of the festivities! His twin''s wife locking me in the bathroom giving me a hard time about not being engaged!!!
See, boys don''t get it. No one asks them, "when is the wedding".... I can''t even call a distant family member without them answering the phone "are you engaged...No? Then why are you calling? Oh ok, hi. Call when you have news!" Just once, I''d love for my sister to lock him in a bathroom with the million questions!
And they wonder why we can''t stand the wait.
er.

At the 10 year you were the only non-married? At 10 years people are, what, 27 or 28. They may have just gotten married themselves! How horrible of people to make you feel bad about it!

I''m in the opposite position. The only married of the high school group, except the one friend who was engaged before she even graduated high school (!). We get teased about being getting married when we were just children. You can''t win for losing.

Great response!

Your response was PERFECT!

Honestly, I can''t believe so many people were asking who/what you were. How rude!

Don't worry. If you go to his 20th reunion, a lot of those couples will be divorced.

I had no desire to go to my 10th or 20th reunion, but DH wants to go to his 20th. It's on our anniversary! I have no interest in going. Zippo. But I think this may be one of those things I compromise on. (Sigh)

That is the best response! I wish I had the guts to say that sometimes. You really do not get taken seriously as the girlfriend. Hopefully your SO will pick up the pace and propose soon!

hahaha, good for you!

I so hate it when people try to meddle in your personal life! Just for comparison, I recently had my 5 year highshool reunion and I was the only one there who''s married. About 20 people asked me if I was pregnant yet and then "But why not?" before I shut them up in a rather... ahem... categorical way.

Don''t worry, they always manage to find some really intimate matter to poke their insolent noses into - why aren''t you married, why are you married, are you pregnant and why aren''t you - as long as it''s personal and definitely none of their business, they''re on it. So I congratulate you on your reply-that''s the spirit! Of course, my friends lovingly call me a "shrew" so my opinion may be a little bit biased but anyway

Nobody at my high school reunion was married except two people. I went to a very big school too. I really doubt that anyone thought anything of it, the being a "grilfriend" I mean. 27 is not that old. I''m 28 and I only have 2 married friends and the rest arren''t even engaged.
