I have a 1.87 ct (approx. 6.5mm x 6.5mm) pink spinel Asscher that was precision cut by Jeff White in a platinum Martin Flyer halo setting on consignment with Love Affair Diamonds
The setting has approx. 1.13ctw of G/H-color sidestones/melee; 2 side trapezoid diamonds are approx. 0.25ct each (total 0.50ct) with another approx. 0.63ctw of pave in the halo and shank. Ring is Martin Flyer style #5265SSTRPL and it was purchased locally from an authorized Martin Flyer retailer. The closest setting I could find to this one in Martin Flyer's current inventory is http://martinflyer.com/flyerfit-hand-engraved-remount-41391.html which would be at least $8K in platinum. The ring is sized somewhere around 6.5 IIRC.
The spinel is from Tajikistan and has not been treated (per lapidary Jeff White - his report on the spinel is included).
This was worn occasionally as a right hand ring, but mostly it has been sitting in my jewelry box. I went out of my comfort zone on this (I tend to stick to simpler pieces for daily wear), so I figured it was about time to let this go to help fund other projects like upgrading my studs.
Asking $5,495, but all reasonable offers will be considered.
