SOLD 3.96 OEC in Original Margot Solitaire by Erika Winters!

Up for sale is the beautiful OEC solitaire I upgraded to last year. The stone is a gorgeous 3.96 L, VS2 old european cut set in the very first Margot solitaire by Erika Winters. This stone is a great performer and faces up whiter than most other L color stones I've seen in person (Grace confirms this to be the case). It's also a very nice size at just over 10mm! The stone has a very small table and displays kozibe. The mounting is impeccably executed with the finest attention to every detail. The ring is a size 5.75 and sizable. Asking price is $35,250. Thanks, DS!! It was a very tough choice, but I decided to take back my 2.47 ct transitional cut and consign the 3.96 ct instead. As gorgeous as the 3.96 and its setting are, I feel the 2.47 is a more suitable size for daily wear given my rather casual lifestyle. The workmanship on the Erika Winters setting is nothing short of phenomenal and the stone is absolutely gorgeous, so hopefully I don't regret my decision!

Of all the people here, I probably understand the most. I am at my max comfort level with the 2.3 AVR even though I love larger stones in general. Your old ring is one of my favorites so I am glad you were able to get it back. I also adore the Margot setting and the beautiful OEC! Someone will be very lucky to get it!

Thanks, DS! I know you get it and I'm surprised that I wasn't able to adjust to the size. When I first got my tranny back, I thought it looked a bit small having had such a large stone for the past year. But after half an hour, it looked just right to me. Good to know my max is about 9mm. But I will say that 10mm is really an amazing size for appreciating the facet pattern of a stone! The 3.96 is a fun stone to gaze at!!

I could never in a million years afford it. I was thinking that my new Jeep (just purchased in November with cash) was only a few thousand more than that ring! But I wish I could just try it on!!!

On the other hand, like DS, I can understand what you are feeling. Back when I had not experienced as much Diamond Shrinkage Syndrome as I now have I felt I couldn't wear a stone I had bought that was a bit over 2 carats. This was after I had already had it made into a solitaire ring. So I had it made into a custom necklace instead. Now, of course, I think "What was I thinking?". But still. I understand how it feels to think a stone is too big on your hand!

Good luck with the sale. Anyone would want that ring!

Thanks, Deb! I would be happy for you to try it on!! I never thought I'd say a diamond is too big for me, but I really do think 2.5 cts is my comfort zone. I could maybe push it to 3 cts, but I'm happy with what I have now. Never thought I'd say that!!
