I can't believe I'm selling this but I won't set it anytime in the near future.

Aquamarine cut by Jeff White of Jeff White Gems. Measures 9.6x 9.6 in his classic antique cushion pattern. Lovely gemstone with great icey blue color.
The gem report from Jeff states the origin from Nigeria and no treatment on the aqua.

Pictures don't really capature the color very well. It looks paler in the pictures then real life.

Price includes shipping and delivery confirmation. Please include an extra $10 if you want insurance. Paypal only please. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Re: 4.80ct Aqua by Jeff White

Hi Sarahbear!

may I ask what is the depth of the stone? Would it be possible to set in in a ring?

Many thanks and best wishes,

d.

Re: 4.80ct Aqua by Jeff White

So bear in mind I did this with a tape measure..it was around 8mm approx. It shouldn't be too deep for a ring at all. I contacted several PS vendors about having it set and no one had an issue with setting it or depth. I just could never settle on a setting that I loved....and now I have other projects in the works :naughty:

Re: 4.80ct Aqua by Jeff White

thank you, Sarah!
it's a truly beautiful stone, and I love the faceting. So charming!
I'm searching for a semi-mount of adequate size and style. Should I find one that I love and is still reasonably priced, I'll jump on this in no time :)

Is this the one that sold on DB last year? So nice! Good luck!

Nope this is a different one. The other one I think was a bit smaller at 9.5mm, but it was more saturated in color. I perfer pale more pastel stones so I had Jeff custom cut this for me.

DB- I was looking at a WF and IDJ for a few options. They were reasonable with the PS discount. I'm not sure what you have in mind for the aqua, I was actually thinking a plain rose gold setting -did you ever see BostonJeff's Leon Solitare with double claw prongs?- That was where I was thinking about going but with rose gold.

I was thinking about an antique setting, and asking for help in that direction to the girls in the color stone forum.
It never crossed my mind to set it in a modern mount, but it actually sounds like a very interesting option! Thank you :) I absolutely love double claws. did you find something that could fit?

Is it 9.6 mm diagonally or is that the LxW measurement? Depending on your answer (and if the corner is rounded or more pointy), it could be the 9 mm or 10 mm setting. 8 mm is very deep relative to the LxW and typically won't fit into a calibrated setting but if the prongs are long enough, it can be set up a bit higher to accomodate the depth.

Sarah, just to check a couple of things.. is 9.6 the diagonal or the LxW measurement? thank you :)

Chrono is an awesome resource to have. She helped me set my cushion tourmaline by jeff into a LOGR tiffany setting. I believe the 9.6mm is the LxW. The cushion definitely has rounded corners, so it could fit 9mm but I would probably play it safe and do 10mm.

Thanks Minous! I'm sure it will go to a happy home soon...or it will stay in my happy home for a few years till I have the funds to set it. DH pulled the plug on everything...no more sparklies for 3 years and he meant it!!! :blackeye:
