Up for sale is my antique diamond five stone ring. The setting is custom-made in unplated 18 kt white gold (carved wax and cast). The ring is currently a size 6 with a 3 mm shank. It is resizable within reason.

I am selling this ring because I have acquired a different ring and don't wear this one as much and she deserves to make it out of a jewelry box.

The diamonds consist of 4 OMC's and 1 OEC. The smallest stones measure at a little over 3 mm. The middle pair are about 4 mm and the center is about 5.1 x 5.3 mm. The total weight between the 5 stones is a hair under 2 carats. The center stone is 0.84 carats.

They were appraised loose prior to being sent off for the setting. They range in color from I to M so if you are very, very color sensitive and must have all stones matching in color this ring is probably not for you. One of the 3 mm stones and the center stone are lower grades (the M's) and the rest are in the near colorless range (I-H).

As for clarity, 3 of the stones are *not* eye clean close up. The center stone has a black deposit right underneath the table centered over the culet. Each of the 4 mm stones have a visible flaw but they are white in color and less noticeable. I only noticed after they were set when I studied them extremely closely. Before that I was so dazzled by the performance and faceting that I did not notice the flaws.

The diamonds perform as nice old cuts will- with lots of big flashes of fire and some scintillation. I absolutely LOVE this ring in bright sun. It simply glows in indirect outdoor lighting. The center stone will turn a delicious golden yellow.

Some pictures posted below. More in thread and in ad.

Oh Clairetek!! I'm sad that you are selling your 5 stone!! This was such an exciting ring for you... Well - there will be one VERY LUCKY new owner soon!! It should be snapped up very quickly!!

Do you have a link to your listing???

Re: Antique Diamond Five Stone Ring- 2 cttw

What do you think about the chances this be sized down to a 4.5? I am seriously interested in this ring and would like to purchase it after I know a couple more details. Unless I'm mistaken, the thread said it's a 5.75? Once the link is up, I can send a PM.

Claritek, didn't you just recently have this made, or am I thinking of someone else?

Re: Antique Diamond Five Stone Ring- 2 cttw

I've seen this in person and I can vouch that it's GORGEOUS! If I hadn't been so very bad lately I would try to snag this for myself. Good luck with your sale!

It was completed last April but I bought the Aurora in late July and I've been wearing that. I love it but can't keep both.

I can't tell you how I wish I could liberate enough funds to buy this from you!!! I hope it goes to a loving home soon.

This is a gorgeous piece and so well priced! It is so hard to find a suite of stones that work well together, and the mount is so lovely. Good luck with your sale!

Re: Antique Diamond Five Stone Ring- 2 cttw

Thank you for the kind comments on the ring. I do love it!

I wanted to update this thread with photos in different lighting. I am lucky (if you can call it that!) to have both incandescent and fluorescent bulbs in my bathroom lights on separate switches. Makes it easier to demonstrate how obvious (or not, as the case may be) the color differences in the stones are in different kinds of lighting.

Incandescent

Fluorescent

And finally, my favorite kind of light- diffused sunlight. She's golden! Nice to compare here to modern G colored round brilliants in the Aurora semi-eternity.

Re: Antique Diamond Five Stone Ring- 2 cttw

In addition to the lighting photos update I want to state that I will offer a return period for the ring. I know it's a lot of money and a risk buying sight unseen. I will offer a 5 day inspection period and return of all funds less any PayPal and shipping fees (if there are PayPal fees for a refunded transaction, not sure if there are).

Her pictures do not do it justice. I saw it in person a couple of weekends ago and it was gorgeous! So lively and sparkly!!!
