I have just posted on LT:

I am offering a hand-forged antique brooch. It is made of 10 gramm of 18k gold and is stamped 750. The security clasp is a latter addition.

Please note that the diamond is not included in the selling price. For your reference, the stone is appr. 0.95 ct H-I /VS and is appr. 6.1 mm. Should you be interested in purchasing this brooch as a whole, please let me know, but for now I am selling only the gold mounting.

This is a unique piece and it is a couple of centuries old. It is a great chance to own a tiny bit of history. I imagine some fancy dressed lady with the fan wearing it

Re: Hand forged antique brooch

It's very beautiful! It might even be a candidate for a conversion to a bangle such as the ones posted lately in the SMTB threads. Sending you dust for a quick sale. It is fun to think of who might have loved & worn this. Such a neat piece of history!

Thank you, Rockinruby!

That is a beautiful brooch indeed. i like it a lot, but I do not wear brooches. Alas, it has to go. But I would hate just to scrap it.

Re: Hand forged antique brooch

It is a beautiful brooch! I am not a brooch or bangle person, but my first thought also was a B2B conversion. It might be helpful to list the measurements for those considering that option. ;)

Good luck with the sale!

Re: Hand forged antique brooch

Thank you very much for your comment. I have just measured the brooch and it is 5 by 2.1 cm so it should feel comfortable even on the smaller wrist. Here is a photo (sorry for the ipad quality)

Re: Hand forged antique brooch

That's a gorgeous broach! And European gold is soooo much richer than American 18 kt gold. I think it's because the alloy is lots of copper, not sure.

If I had some $$$ I would grab this. Maybe a pendent, set horizontally with a chain.

Re: Hand forged antique brooch

Glad that you liked it, iLander.

Actually, you might want to check out the listing. I am selling the brooch without a stone and I listed it just slightly above the scrap value, so it might be still of interest for you.
