Re: VC Anne Marie

Your setting is gorgeous and will definitely sell. You just have to hold out for the right buyer. I think someone will scoop this up. I definitely wouldn't cosign it!!!!!

Re: VC Anne Marie

Thanks SB. I guess I may buckle down and take some pictures. I wasn't going to do that if I needed to send it off anyways.

Re: VC Anne Marie

It may save you a considerable amount of money. I agree that you should try to post your own pictures first and see what happens.

Re: VC Anne Marie

Yes, please post pictures. I don't think you'll be able to sell it without them. What was the exact size of the stone you had set in the setting and who removed your stone?

Re: VC Anne Marie

A couple of questions -
What's it made of? VC works with 900/Ir, right?
How many times have stones been set/unset? (Will the new buyer need to have the prongs rebuilt, or have any other structural work done)?
Has it been sized at all?
What's the current condition? Any lost melee, etc.?

Re: VC Anne Marie

Diamondseeker: 8.68 x 8.72 and it hasn't been removed yet.

Yssie: Whatever standard platinum mix Victor uses. I am first and only owner, it's in excellent condition. I've only had it since the end of January.

Re: VC Anne Marie

That helps to know because I would think whoever buys it would want their stone to fit like yours did. I hate that you don't want to keep it, though, because you will take a big hit on selling it, unfortunately.

Okay... I am interested. My stone is a MRB 8.7mm stone, and I wear a 5.25-5.5 -- can this be safely sized down? Also, would you be willing to negotiate on the price? (VC quoted me about $1.5K more than you're asking in 2012, but it was just too much at the time...)

Thanks :))

Re: VC Anne Marie

OP, just sent you a PM on LT...

For that tiny size difference, I would get sizing beads and not risk resizing. You are lucky that your diamond is the exact right size!!!

Re: VC Anne Marie

It always makes me nervous to think about resizing anything other than a plain band. Maybe I'm just a nervous Nelly but we are talking about a hand-forged piece of jewelry. One-quarter size isn't all that much, IMO. I wear sizes 6, 6.25, 6.5 and in one instance a scant 6.75 on the same finger. Just my two cents!

Msop I have had my Emilya resized (due to losing pregnancy weight and fingers going back to normal. I did not send to VC as it is crazy to send my ring all the way across the country for how ever many weeks/ days to do it. I took it to a very good local place where I knew their work was steller and had them do it. I have had no issues what so ever. Truly anyone can resize it just make sure they have experience with pave.

Thanks for the info, SB... sadly, I was unable to convince DH to let me change my setting right now. I must say that MrsBettyBoop was very nice and someone will be very lucky to have her setting -- just sad it's not me.

...maybe one day (at a much higher price, I'm sure) ::)

Re: VC Anne Marie

Hi MrsBettyBoop! I just sent you a message via LT.

Re: VC Anne Marie

OMG MrsBettyBoop. I just got my studs. The temptation!! and it fits my stone too.

If you don't mind sharing, why are you selling it? Is something about it not what you want or have your tastes changed?

Re: VC Anne Marie

Oh my LLJsmom! I don't know what I would do with a 4.5! ... but what kind of band is it? :Up_to_something:

I'm not sure about the logistics, but I'm pretty sure 1 size up or down (4.75) is ok. Anything other than that you might want to ask Victor?
