After looking for a marquise cut diamond for the past few months, I stumbled upon Solomon Brothers today. Their prices seem far lower than the competition (esp. Blue Nile).

This stone in particular caught my eye:

Shape: Marquise
Weight: 1.08
Color: G
Clarity: Vs2
Cut: Excellent
Table: 59%
Depth: 60.1%
Girdle: Thin to slightly thick
Cullet: N
Polish: Good
Symmetry: Good
Measurements: 10.07 x 5.57 x 3.35
Length to Width Ratio: 1.81
Wire Price: $2345

In my very limited knowledge, this look like a lot of diamond for the money.

Am I missing something?

Thanks, Skippy.

Using the price comparison tool shows that USA Certed is listing the same diamond for $2494, and Whiteflash has it for $2590.

I''ll check out the link you sent.

There is a big customer service difference between WF and Solomon Bros IMO. I'd much rather deal with WF they'll call it in and tell you if it's a nice stone or not too.

You didn’t mention the source of the grading. It can make a big difference. In addition to the usual color/clarity question, who called the cutting ‘excellent’ and what do they mean by that?
