Hey everyone. If you''re following my story, my boyfriend and I have been dating for several years and have talked about getting married for a while, but neither one of us wanted to do it while he was finishing medical school. He is starting his last year in the fall. This last month, we picked a ring and it is currently being set, although he told me that I couldn''t have it for a while after it arrived.

BUT- yesterday he had to fill in information for his residency application, and listed himself as being engaged and had to provide a month and year of marriage. He told me to look that part of the application over and he ended up listing himself as engaged to be married 05/2008!

So, he hasn''t asked yet and I don''t have a ring yet, but now we have a general date and the engagement is kinda officially locked in!

I totally understand your situation - we are now looking at venues (even though I am still waiting for my ring to be finished) and have told some OS friends of ours who will be (hopefully) guests at our wedding to "save the date" for 7 June 2008! (That''s a long weekend/public holiday in Australia so we would get married on a Sat night but have Sunday and Monday to recover).

Its very exciting and I would definitely recommend starting to look for venues NOW!! Still, I''d love to have the ring on my finger but I guess we have to be patient. Very exciting progress for you Misysu2
