I''ve got 3 of the four covered in one shot!
My MIL has gold charms that my FIL gave her at the birth of each of her children. My FI''s charm is gold with 2 little baby booties on it. the booties have tiny blue ''pom-poms'' on them. So I will borrow this little charm and it will cover the old, borrowed and blue--i think it is so cute and unique. I will probably attach it to the inside of my dress, or the centre of the bow on my sash (it''s pretty tiny)
Something Old: I am going to tape 2 sixpence(s) in my shoe- one from the year my mom was born, and one the year my dad was born- I''ve lost both parents (my mom just 6 weeks ago) and I want to have them "walk me"down the aisle.
Something New: My wedding gown/wedding jewelry
Something Borrowed: I won''t be wearing it, but am borrowing from my sister the Tiffany flutes my parents used to toast with on their 50th wedding anniversary
Something Blue- TBD, either blue undies, or a monogrammed dress insert in blue scrip with the date and our initials, etc.
Borrowed, Blue, and Old: My future MIL has a sapphire and white gold bracelet that was her grandmothers I believe that she wants me to wear. Not quite my style, but it was so sweet of her to offer, I can''t turn it down. So three rolled into one!!!
I''m enjoying reading everyone''s items and why their using them. How did this tradition begin anyway? It was never something I really wondered about until now, when I''m trying to think of something for my own wedding.
old: My grandmothers diamond and platinum tennis bracelet that my mom is letting me borrow.
new: Dress!
borrowed: Pearl and diamond earrings from my cousin who I met on her wedding day when I was 7. I thought it was so cool that she was a bride. It has a nice full circle kind of feeling.
blue: My Penn State garter!
Just wanted to share that I was thinking "where the heck does one find a half pence for their shoe these days?" And I found them being sold at David''s so if you want/need one and dont know where to go, that''s the place.
