What will yours be, ladies?

Old? New? Borrowed? Blue?

Something old/blue: my grandmothers diamond and sapphire ring as RHR

Something new: my wedding dress

Something borrowed: TBD

I''ve got 3 of the four covered in one shot!
My MIL has gold charms that my FIL gave her at the birth of each of her children. My FI''s charm is gold with 2 little baby booties on it. the booties have tiny blue ''pom-poms'' on them. So I will borrow this little charm and it will cover the old, borrowed and blue--i think it is so cute and unique. I will probably attach it to the inside of my dress, or the centre of the bow on my sash (it''s pretty tiny)

Jas, you could also incorporate it into the holder of your flowers, no?

Something Old: I am going to tape 2 sixpence(s) in my shoe- one from the year my mom was born, and one the year my dad was born- I''ve lost both parents (my mom just 6 weeks ago) and I want to have them "walk me"down the aisle.

Something New: My wedding gown/wedding jewelry

Something Borrowed: I won''t be wearing it, but am borrowing from my sister the Tiffany flutes my parents used to toast with on their 50th wedding anniversary

Something Blue- TBD, either blue undies, or a monogrammed dress insert in blue scrip with the date and our initials, etc.

New: Dress and shoes

Borrowed, Blue, and Old: My future MIL has a sapphire and white gold bracelet that was her grandmothers I believe that she wants me to wear. Not quite my style, but it was so sweet of her to offer, I can''t turn it down. So three rolled into one!!!

Something old: My late grandmother''s ivory pearls (they''re gorgeous

)

Something new: My dress

Something borrowed: I don''t know yet, but I''m thinking of attaching something of my mother''s (a piece of jewelry?) to my bouquet

Something blue: My under-things.

Hmm, this is fun to think about.

Old: my mother''s veil
New: dress, shoes
Borrowed: not sure about this one
Blue: I have no idea!!

surfgirl--that''s a great idea! Thanks!

old: shoes

new: dress

borrowed: TBD (jewellery? handkerchief?)

blue: dress and crinoline

I''m enjoying reading everyone''s items and why their using them. How did this tradition begin anyway? It was never something I really wondered about until now, when I''m trying to think of something for my own wedding.

old: My grandmothers diamond and platinum tennis bracelet that my mom is letting me borrow.
new: Dress!
borrowed: Pearl and diamond earrings from my cousin who I met on her wedding day when I was 7. I thought it was so cool that she was a bride. It has a nice full circle kind of feeling.
blue: My Penn State garter!

I didn''t do this. Hope I am not jinxed.

Just wanted to share that I was thinking "where the heck does one find a half pence for their shoe these days?" And I found them being sold at David''s so if you want/need one and dont know where to go, that''s the place.

Loads of silver sixpences on the UK ebay if anyone is looking! I''m trying to find one from 1908 so it will be 100 years old.

Mine:

Old - Antique lace veil, my pearls and a victorian silk bracelet with an M in gold and seedpearls that will tie my bouquet.

New - My dress

Borrowed - Probably a bracelet from my mother

Blue - Forget-me-knots in my bouquet
