Boyfriend and I just bought our perfect stone from Wild Fish (http://www.wildfishgems.com/inc/sdetail/6821) and as we''re waiting for the wire to clear and our stone to arrive, we''ve been looking at settings. I saw this one in SMTR and we both agree it''s perfect:

So here''s my question... is a sapphire going to be hard enough/sturdy enough to sit in a setting like this? We love that the stone is so exposed to light, but I''m afraid it will get chipped or dislodged or something. So, long-time sapphire owners, what do you think? Feel free to weigh in on the stone, too. As soon as it arrives we''ll probably take it to an appraiser just to make sure it is what we think it is (awesome. ). But I''d love to hear any thoughts from the real experts!
This website has been so informative as we''ve gone through our search. Even if I don''t get any responses, ya''ll have been amazing. Thanks.
