Sorry been away for so long

I''ve been working crazy hours

I read the board, but by the end of the day I am so worn out.

I have a little bit of an update though. We kinda found another ring ( I know I know... i''m so fickle). But he likes this one too. So I thought I''d share. What do you think?

He''s been hinting that he needs a vacation and would love to go to CA and Disneyland again and to check out a certain ring shop that is only in Beverly Hills (and 5 other locations). He wants to see the ring on my finger again before he gets it.

The stone will be smaller than the one in this picture. We are looking at a .52 F VS2. It''s a great size and the right price.

My SO is planning on proposing between now and August. He said he needs to know what I''m doing in August because he has things he needs to plan. Plans, he said, that I would be very interested in.

Without further ado.. here is the ring we may have decided on.... (I''m personally torn between this and another ring, but this one is in our price range)

I think the ring is pretty, but you wouldn''t rather have a 1 ct. diamond from somewhere else for the price of a .5 HW???? I mean, no one else is going to have a clue of the brand name.

You are right about being able to get something larger somewhere else. :-/ My SO, though, loves the sales associate and they have been working together to find something nice. since we do not live in CA, and there are no stores here, we will not have to pay tax b/c we are getting it shipped to us. Also, my SO said the SA is helping him out with a small discount. I'm not sure what discount it is. He said together, it would be a little more than a ring i was looking at at a different store. Except the ring is in platinum instead of white gold.

He is adamantly against internet vendors.

Last night, while we were out on a date, I started feeling guilty though b/c he is pretty much supporting me even though I work. So, I told him that we should probably just wait to get a ring or, as you said, look at a place less expensive. He said no to waiting, but may consider looking at a place less expensive (ETA even if we did look at someplace less expensive, I dont want a 1ct. So, we could save money for the future. In this economy, you never know whats going to happen). He said either way, I shouldn't worry about it anymore.

Which I'm really happy about. The closer the proposal gets, the more I just want to be surprised about all of it -- the ring, the engagement, the timing. My SO has excellent taste and knows mine so i trust whatever he gets will be something we both love.


I know I am so excited that the engagement is coming soon, but you only get engaged once to the man of your dreams right? I'm ecstatic things are going well, and that he will surprise me, but has anyone ever wanted to just video tape EVERYTHING so they never forget a moment with their SO? I just hope he remembers to bring the video camera.

He obviously has good taste if he likes HW! And he obviously wants to get you a high quality ring! So since size is not really important to you, I think it is great to get a designer ring! It sounds like you''re going to have a nice surprise!

I just started a thread with some proposal videos. They are so sweet! Maybe you can drop a hint that you want all special events in your lives recorded!
