I figured with all of the stressful stuff I''ve posted on here with the guest list and everything I figured I could show the AMAZING part that I have planned for our honeymoon...
My fiance left me incharge of our honeymoon and I did some research and we both knew we wanted to be close to teh beach and not too far of a drive. So 13 hrs. from Indiana we find South Carolina. This is an AMAZING deal for a week RIGHT on the beach for $1200...so a week after our wedding we''re heading down to South Carolina for the week....if you guys want to check out some of the pics on the website or want me to post some pics of the view from the room it''s AMAZING and if any of you are looking for a place for your honeymoon this place is the BEST deal we have found.

Yes!! I was just looking at the link and it mentioned Wild Dunes and the Isle of Palms. Both are very nice. We have great beaches, very sandy and if you go out during low tide you can find all sorts of treasures washed up!! It''s probably a 20 minute drive into Downtown Charleston, which I highly recommend. It''s beautifu, it was founded in 1850 I believe and there arestill a lot of original homes, the architecture is amazing, and there are Horse and carriage rides where the driver will point different historical landmarks, and there are ghost tourss that take you on a walk of historical sites and tell you there ghost stories, plus there are amazing restaurants and lots of shopping such as the open air market where local craftsmen bring there handmade items to sell.

yea we were told we have to go to Charleston and my fiance already told me i am to plan a carriage ride....haha...are there fish markets or is the fishing not that big of a deal? It would be nice to get some food and cook out on a grill or something on the beach at sunset and talk about life and stuff...even though i''m not much of a cook but i could always learn on the fly.

Ooh, I knew it was Wild Dunes!! We used to go there with my family during the summer when I was young. It''s truly beautiful. Isle of Palms is small and lovely. You can easily get to Charleston from there. You''ll have a great time!

Are you sure that the photo of the "sunset" was not actually of a sunrise? I''m having a hard time understanding how the sun would be setting on the Atlantic Ocean in South Carolina.

Otherwise this looks like a really nice trip. I''m having a great time planning our honeymoon. If you are like me, you will start a spreadsheet with all kinds of detailed lists.

I meant "sunrise" haha.......but either way it''s going to be awesome...i''m sure a morning or two we''ll wake up early and watch the sunrise on the beach. I''m really looking forward to driving down there because it''s HALLARIOUS whenever we go on long trips my fiance has to tell me 10 steps ahead where I''m going to turn at and i''m like ummm that''s in 100 miles let''s jsut wait about an hr. and then you can tell me....so it''ll be interesting how far ahead she tells me i''ll have to turn on a 13 hr. trip

Beautiful - I love how serene it looks! And the balcony on the roof is a wonderful plus!

You know, I don''t know much about the fishing, you can go out deep sea fishing from Shem Creek, which is between Wild Dunes and Charleston I think, or you can fish off most of the piers. And I have never bought fish and cooked it while there, but I''m sure there are some great fish markets, and it will be the best you''ve ever had!!

How cool - I was there the first week of July! Congratulations - you're going to have the best time!

We found a condo in Surfside Beach on VRBO- it was one of the best vacations I've ever been on. It took us about 90 minutes to get into the heart of Charleston, but I LOVED Charleston!!!

Eat at Hyman's - inexpensive, and the food is great!!! http://www.hymanseafood.com/

wow, that place looks amazing. I cannot wait to get down to SC and relax for a week...even though it''s not until May 19th, 2007....it''s going to be the GREATEST week of my life. Especially having finished a crazy year of school and planning a wedding..it''s giong to be amazing to lay on the beach and listen to the waves and not have to worry about any guest lists or DJ''s or anything. Btw...what book are you reading in that picture? haha

awww May 19th 07 is my 7-year dating anniversary =)
I wanted to do May, but my FH is a teacher and wanted it around a holiday...so we chose the night after Thanksgiving! ...right around our 7 1/2 yr anniversary.

And the book is The House of Mirth

The last time I read it was my senior year of high school...I love reading the same books at different times in my life - you get such different things out of them!

This is really funny because just this week someone else posted that they might propose at Mountain Lake, VA where we go every summer, and now I see this! We stay at Wild Dunes for a week every summer and usually a weekend in the spring and fall. We love it! Do plan a day in Charleston for sure. But there is plenty of good food nearby. We like The Beach House (need reservations there) which has a water view, Sullivan''s over on Sullivan''s Island for reasonably priced seafood, we like eating outdoors at the Banana Cabana which is under the One Eyed Parrot (very casual), and there''s a great Mexican restaurant called the Acme Cantina. All of these are really casual, but the Beach House is a little more expensive. Once we''re down there, dressing up is putting on flip flops to go with shorts, so I can''t recommend too many fancy restaurants! There are plenty in downtown Charleston.

You''re getting a very good deal..I think the 3 br units in our complex (Shipwatch) run around $3000+ a week in the summer. May is a lovely time to go.
