She just looked....off. Too dark and her eyes seemed over done to me and what was with that bit at the end washing the car, bleh. I think it is interresting that she talks about her dad being a minister but that he never was anything past youth minister. I would not let my teenagers near him, he gives me the willies. I thought she was going to be the "good girl" the one that parents wouldnt cringe over?

That was.....too bad. I mean, the girl acts like a ditz and all, but it''s not like I had no respect for her...until now. That video was friggin ridiculous. Why put it to music at all? Why not just dance around half naked, and writhe around in a bikini (for no reason) and sell it as soft core ****? Cuz it''s certainly NOT about her singing anymore. I thought she was mildly entertaining on Newlyweds...but that video was a total turnoff for me. It''s like she''s just trying to sell her body...and that''s just so OLD.

they showed the pix of her video last week in US Weekly, the interesting thing is that she used to be ashamed of her body because in her church they apparently were not into her big boobs when she was young and told her she couldn't be a Christian singer because she was too overdeveloped...so in all the articles and stuff on her life it has always been noted that she was kind of embrassed about her body and how curvy she was etc and it took finding Nick and getting married and I guess bering intimate with someone finally to show her how sexy she is, hence that CD In My Skin or something which is supposed to be that she now feels more comfortable in her own skin...the article noted something like that by doing this video she was shedding all the old insecurities and now she feels like she can expose her body and not be ashamed or worried..and the source in the article noted that the change in how she viewed herself was huge.
Personally I think it's great that she finally feels like she can do something like this where it is putting herself on the chopping block to be picked apart, but she is not ashamed or worried what people think of her...not many people are like that. many people feel like showing too much skin makes you slutty or something similar but i say if you got it, then flaunt it and she definitely has it! Won't always have that awesome bod, that's for sure!
edited to add that when i watched the video, i thought her shorts and boots outfit was pretty 'daisy duke' which is what she plays in the movie and also where the song was featured (willie nelson was in it too)...so maybe that is the look she was going for. also maybe it's because i'm a chick but i thought the smile on her face made her look cute rather than sexy and i thought she looked 'happy'...the whole thing seemed kind of kitschy rather than her trying to be super sexy.

Did you really think she was as bad as Christina Aguilera? I thought it was "Urban Cowboy" meets "Dukes of Hazard" sexy cowgirl, but not trashy. At least she didn''t show off her panties or butt cheeks (can I say that on here, if not I am so sorry webmaster

For the most part, I would say Jessica Simpson portrays a cleaner image than most pop stars (with the exception of the really good ones like Mandy Moore and Hilary Duff). So she wanted to flaunt it, she has worked really hard to get that buff. I would probably want to show it off too.

I understand what Mara is saying about flauting it if you''ve got it and being proud of your sexuality. I just feel that all this exposure she is receiving for the past year is going to her head and her image is seriously changing. She''s a married woman, she should act like one. That means respecting your husband by not getting darn near naked and writhing around on top of a car, or shaking your a** is some guy''s face on camera. But I guess that is "normal" behavior for a celebrity marriage. The morals and ethics of a typical marriage don''t seem to apply to Hollywood. If my job was to wear next to nothing and suds myself up for the viewing enjoyment of many men, my husband would send me packing in a heartbeat. IMO, she''s acting like a tramp, not a classy woman.
I am proud of my body too, but I don''t feel the urge to get practically naked to prove it. Plain and simple, I think she sold out. She''s trying way too hard to prove she''s comfortable in her skin. Confidence is best shown when it''s subtle, not over-the-top. I see girls dressed like that and dancing like that in clubs all the time. You know what becomes of them? Trashy one night stands with guys they don''t know and have no respect for the girl. They are simply a piece of you know what for the night. It''s very sad. I hope she cleans up her act and realizes that she seems to have a great guy for a husband, and if she''s not careful, he will leave her for someone who is comfortable enough with themselves not to have to flaunt it all over town....

ok, i had to watch it to see what all of the talk was about
my verdict- i guess i am in the middle. i definitely think she is selling her body these days, rather than her music. i didn''t think it was nearly as bad as christina''s dirty video though, but what the heck was going on with the car washing? bizarre! randomly let''s put on a bikini and wash a car. ick.
her dad creeps me out big time too. who would do that to their daughter? ewwwwwwwwww...
