I love this stone and want to make it into a necklace. I'm sure I could find someone local to do it for me.
I don't know anything about Spectrolite. And I want to see your ideas for a necklace!

TIA!

Spectrolite (J/D) 5.8 ct. 14.8 x 18.1 mm. [Gec: N] Freeform cabochon. Superb material from Finland with a directional, but strong and total shiller flash in gold, green and vivid blue. JB.

Wow I have never seen spectolite before, it''s beautiful!!!

I think since the stone is so lovely that a sibple setting on an omega necklace or a longer spiga chain would be lovely. What color metal is your preference?

i think it would look awesome set very simple, in order to really show off the beauty of the stone.
something like this perhaps.......

Any chance to attach a bail to it (drill into the thickness of the piece) directly ? Directional color play shows best with movement, and a heavy or rigid metal frame prevents it.

Spectrolite and blue moonstone make a particularly lovely combination, IMO. If you do not hate stone beads, a pendant like that may fit very well onto a strand of fine moonstone ... or translucent spectrolite for that matter. Not that gold chain hurts!

Actually, mixing gold accents into the piece could only add to the rough charm.

I do not have an example at hand - just something of the style I am trying to describe above:

Necklace by Ann Biederman

I am just hoping to show an example of necklace in which "chain" and pendant are made of the same material and fabricated gold accents add interest.

This one below (from Peter Indorf) even resembles the shape of your stone...

Oh I really like the second one there...though I think with the colors of your stone sterling of another white metal might look better.
