This is the one that I wish I hadn't set! Un-set this stone is a lovely orange/yellow with very little brown (again, one of Tan's bargain basement gemstones). I'm not an "orange" person and it doesn't suit me so I was really undecided whether to have this or a Purple Sapphire set into this setting and my jeweller asked if he could choose. My mistake! I really really really don't like it. The stone is too small for the setting and appears to have taken on a very brown tone.

Oh well you can't win them all! Next year I'm going to swap the stones around but until then ............ it'll probably sit in a box looking brown!

Interestingly, everybody who has seen this likes it - must just be me then!

Next time, high karat yellow gold for this little guy. He is pretty though.

I like the colour but I agree the setting overwhelms the stone a bit.

LD,
I have a feeling yellow gold (even high karat gold) is going to do wonders for your spessartite.

The stone is pretty bright. I think it is just trying to jump out of the setting. The setting itself is very nice, they just do not go well together.

Oh man! I like the airline but yellow gold would have done that stone a world of good!
