What if you could only choose 1 piece or 1 set? What would it be and why. I say set because everything I wear is worn very specifically in a grouping.


If I could only keep one set it would be my Casablanca and her companions. Wear it every day. If I had to say just one piece it would be my Casablanca alone.

I am taking advantage of this snowy day in Massachusetts to photograph some of my jewelry. Here is my favorite piece. It is an art deco dinner ring with OECs and emeralds set in platinum, estimated to be from the 20s. What is your most beloved item?

So, what is your favorite piece of jewelry? Why is it your favorite? Does it have great meaning to you? Is it just beautiful?

This is a tough one. I am a minimalist at heart and while I have many beautiful pieces of jewelry I basically wear three pieces over all the rest most of the time. But choosing one piece really comes down to two pieces for me.

My black Cartier Opal from my parents. Probably that would be the one I would choose but I rarely wear it. But I enjoy looking at it and it suits my minimalist nature. To enjoy but rarely wear.



Why would I choose this piece? Because of what it represents to me. My parents true love. And I also find it breathtakingly beautiful. It's a masterpiece IMO. Wearable art. And it brings me joy to look at. Plus it is relatively rare as I have never seen another like it.


So if this was the only piece I could keep I would end up wearing no jewelry most of the time but that would be OK for me lol. In fact, we spend most of our days cycling and I never wear any jewelry but Greg always wears his band. I see some people glancing at my hand and I wonder if they are wondering why Greg wears a band and I don't. I don't care but I find it amusing.
