Wow SS,
What a lovely gem. What are the specs on it? I like the various color shifts.

I love cat''s eye. I swallowed one once when I was 5 because I liked to carry it around in my mouth

Thanks TL :)

The stone weighs in at 3.29 CTS
10.3 x 8.6 x 4.2 mm a huge spread since it does not have a deep belly

It was color graded as strongly yellowish green (styG 3/2)

It definitely color shifts from lemon yellow/golden to a mountain dew electric green all the while displaying a very prominent eye and often that "milk and honey" effect is pretty easy to see!

Gems can really look yummy but thankfully I''ve been able to stop myself from actually trying to taste one ;) Thanks for looking DD :)

Nice stone SS!

Welcome back, SS. I was hoping you wouldn''t leave for too long. Nice stone, btw. Is it a chrysoberyl? It''s really fun to make the eye open and close using 2 different light sources.

Could have been worse, could have been like me and stuck one up your nose...yup.

After that my parents only let me collect rocks that were bigger than a nostril.

Very nice. I really like cat''s eye.

Ooooo how cool! I really like that stone.

Hi Chrono, thanks for the welcome back, life got busier than usual and my credit card needed a break too but I am back!

Yes the stone is a cat''s eye chrysoberyl, and while I have seen other stones with chatoyancy, there is a special something that chrysoberyl CE has that is pretty much unmatched! I have some pictures of the open/close effect, I just have to prepare them for PS uploading :)

Here is the final design I came up with for the stone and in the following jeweler picture, I think you will see that they did a great job at making my idea come to life!

And here is the final product, I was really floored when I saw this... the eye is so sharp and distinct and I thought it goes well with the geometric framing

Hi Platinumrock... I originally wanted rose gold for the ring but apparently its not so popular in Asia (where the ring was fabricated) and I could either choose buttery yellow or white gold and I am glad I went with yellow :) Thanks for the compliments!
