Stats on Amber''s (survivor) ring?

Curious minds want to know.

Rob of the same Survivor Allstars proposed to the new millionaire last night. She kept stareing at the ring this morning on CBS.
 
heard about it, haven't seen pictures. Never followed Survivor, but curious to see another high profile ring...

Supposedly J-Lo also has a "engagement-like ring" on her middle left hand finger that was a gift from Marc Anthony "friends" say...Her people commented to the tune of "we don't think that's the case."

What's with the rings? 'Tis the season, I suppose...

From a distance, the ring had enough presence to be noticed.

Hollywood loves their bling.
 
Maybe it's too recent an event to have much info available on the ring? I cant find decent pictures or stories about it on the net either. This is the best I could find

When host, Jeff Probst, asked to see the ring and they did a 2sec zoom-in on it, it looked to me like an oval, round or OEC in the center with pave encircling it. It also looked to have some diamonds on the sides.

Amber's diamond looked round, to me, and appeared to have diamonds on the band, as well. Carat wise, my guess is 1.5 to 2 carats

It sparkled nicely under the canned television style lighting (lol) - (but how many stones stone WOULDN'T?). Oh, and the setting, from the angle they showed looked kind of like an antique reproduction.

I wonder if this relationship will last? I'm thinking Amber will dump Rob! lol But, well see. What pressure to be under to have the entire nation keeping tabs on your engagement

Darn, I knew I was forgetting something. I forgot to watch CBS this morning. Did I miss anything good? Survivor is our one and only family TV show we never miss. The kids love it! The finale was great! I'm sure pics of the new ring will be out soon.




To me, in the split second the camera focused on the ring, it looked like a round or oval with small diamonds encircling the center stone and then small sides stones in addition. It appeared light blue, but I'm sure that was just the stage lighting (or high fluorescence

). It looked like a 1.5 or 2 ct center stone. I don't think it was 3 or 4 ct. Well, Rob knew he had at least $100,000 coming to him for the second-place spot, so I'm sure he had a nice budget and the ring is a beauty! He was pretty smart to propose before the votes were read. It would not have looked so good if he proposed after she won the million.

I'm with Michelle on this one. My fiance had Survivor on last night when we were doing invitations. I think it was round, too, and it definitely had some sort of pavé going around the stone (à la Ritani Endless Love, or the like). It looked like an antique style with diamonds on all sides of the band, from what I could tell. I couldn't tell what colour the metal was, though. It funny because when they tried to get a good close-up of it for a few seconds, she wasn't tilting her had the right way to really see it well. You could only kind of see the side. But when he was proposing there was a flash of it from the top, which is when I thought I saw something round.

Diamondlil,

My fiance and I decided that it would be the ultimate Survivor strategy to plan to propose in order to ensure that he gets his hands on the million dollars. Not that I expect the worse of people or anything, but it would be appropriate in the spirit of the Survivor game!

And of course she couldn't say no to him on the spot like that on national television. If she wants to call it off, she'll do it after the hype dies down.

Yeah, I'm a hopeless romantic. And, she truly loved that ring. Stared at it like a newly engaged women. I don't think you can fake that. But, who knows.

O.K. I have to admit. We were out on the boat skiing in the hot sun for hours. I fell asleep. I was soo exhausted.

I caught bits & pieces of the reunion show. When did Rob propose to Amber? On the reunion show or at the very end right before the jury stated their cases? I certainly knew it was coming though. The commercials kept hyping that something "that never happened before" would happen.

Thanks for indulging me. I like Survivor also. That & American Idol are the only reality series we watch.

The little bit I caught of the ring made me think Ritani also.

Rob proposed right before the final votes were read out loud and the winner was announced. The twist wasn't this, however, but that there's going to be a second millionaire winner on the show to be announced this coming Thurday and this person is to be picked by viewers (you can vote on cbs.com).

He proposed to her live last night right before they read the votes. They were all cleaned up and Amber was wearing a shirt that said "I heart Rob."

I thought it looked like a round with small stones going around the band...like Mara's maybe.

She DID hold her hand at the wrong angle when they zoomed in on it! The diamonds on the band may not have gone all the way around...I thought I saw a spot on the bottom with no stones where they could size it possibly.

Ahh! Well, we got two for one surprises then. Their affection seemed genuine on the Island. Stupid question. Was the winner picked on the Island? or was it months after their Dec. return?

The final vote was done on the island almost 5 months ago...in the middle of December. But none of the players knew which of the final two won until last night.

I voted for Big Tom to get the million. I figure it will change his life the most.
 
I second the Ritani Endless Love vote....first thing I said to hubby when I saw the close up,,,lol.
 
I've never seen the Ritani Endless Love setting until I just Goggled it now and Ambuh's ring really looks like that!

A PS moment occurred when I was watching the proposal, I immediately turned to my husband and said, "I have to go find out about her ring." In my head I was thinking, I have to logon to PS for that info!!!!

Update! After the news, Entertainment tonight came on and reported that Rob designed the ring himself. I also saw a close up. Seems round - & quite a bit like Mara's ring. I couldn't figure out if the center stone had stones around it a la Ritani.

Either way, beaming is a good sign.

Michelle, if he proposed on the Island, when & where could he have shopped? I've always been curious about the cronology of Survivor.
 
He didnt propose on the island, he proposed at the beginning of the show that announces the winner back in America.
 
I just love that there are other people out there in the world who are obsessed enough with rings to ask these kinds of questions! God bless you all.

Ooops, sorry if my explanation was off. . .The group voted for the final winner while still on the island but we weren't shown the winner then. Instead, the urn with the names was taken back to civilization and along with all the survivors and then just yesterday (months and months later), Rob proposes and THEN the names were read back and Amber was declared the winner. Hope this makes more sense, I've some wine, lol, and chances are it probably makes even less now

While Amber glowed when the Rob proposed, and kept looking at her ring,..... There was one moment, after the votes were read, when they went down into the audience to hug their families. Amber was hugging someone and the camera caught her just right. She had a very odd look on her face. Could be she was hugging a member of Rob's family and she wasn't all that comfortable. Dunno.

I'm hoping Rupert gets the money. I love Big Tom, but I think Rupert could use it more.

..saw a close up on Regis & Kelly. Definitely round center stone w/ diamonds down the side. It appeared that the stone was sans diamond around the center stone; but, appeared to be bezel set.

Regardless, pretty ring. Happy couple.

It seemed to me that from the point after Amber was announced winner, her smile seemed to falter. I think she turned a bit more serious. Also, my husband noticed a few times that she looked almost annoyed at the comments Rob was making so hmmmm. . . we'll see. . .lol

Yep F&I saw the same close up,I did pause it and it has 2 tapered baguettes on each side of the bezel setting. Very nice ring. She on the other hand bugs,,,lol.

I heard that it is a 1.5ctw round stone w/a circlet around the centerstone but not quite as embedded as Ritani. Did anyone else get that?
