Hi all, i have been going back and forth deciding on a setting for my 3ct ACA from WF. I have finally decided on a rose gold 2mm solitaire with a platinum head, and i though my search was over. But wait.. I didnt know there were different height choices :)

Current CAD is considered a medium low, when i asked about seeing the cutlet WF advised that the setting would be approximately 1mm taller.

Anyone have any advice? I am not concerned about it getting on caught on things, mostly concerned about the look and proportions.

If anyone has any side profile pictures of their solitaires, i would very much appreciate them. Does making the cutlet visible achieve better performance? or is it mostly personal preference ? RG CAD .jpgsimilar sized

PS has been so helpful in this journey, i am getting so close :)

My setting from finger to table is 7-8mm, so, this setting you are looking at will be -/+ 1mm higher.

Also, keep in mind, yours is not a cathedral. so you may want to envision it without the shoulders.

8.7mm seems pretty high to me. I know its all relative because its a large stone.

Can you asked WF to raise it so the culet shows and see how you like that CAD? Theoretically, blocking the bottom is not
supposed to matter because, in a well-cut stone, light comes in from the top and goes back out the top. I would ask WF for
their opinion though. I have a smaller (1.66) WF ring where the culet is hidden by the setting. I* do not feel like it reduces
the light return.
