Stock setting for lap pear: possible?

Waiting to receive a 12x8 lab pear. Described as a bit chubby.

While I save up for something custom, I am searching for a low priced ring mount for now. Is that even possible for a pear??

Yep should work...not always a perfect match but can be secure.
I much prefer a setting that protects the point with a V prong over it.
The point is where the vast majority of damage to a pear happens.

If you go to Reddit moissanite sub forum, the wiki at the top has a list of vendors. People get setting made to the stone's dimensions. They do a CAD and all that. There are many examples of settings by Chinese vendors on there. Stuller's prices aren't fixed at full retail, either, and it's possible to find some discount on them by shopping around.
