Strappy wedding sandals- silver, gold, or ivory?

getting married outside at the end of June so I want to do a strappy high heeled sandal instead of an open toe pump. Something that feels like a sexy summer shoe and then have a cute french manicure or sheer pink painted toes.

My dress is light IVORY SILK TAFFETA.

Would you do strappy SILVER? GOLD? or IVORY SATIN sandals?


My friends are pushing for silver or gold because more chance of wearing them again. I have a ton of black shoes so the idea of dying ivory shoes another color afterwards seems like a bunch of trouble. I tend to wear more gold than silver... but the wedding jewelry will be platinum, diamonds, and pearls. I don''t want to do a funky color like hot pink... just something that will be pretty when seen, but also blend in and not be super noticeable. The picture is the style I am thinking about... or something similar that will feel delicate and light.

So.... what color?

I say gold. Honestly, nobody will notice if the shoes are a different color than your jewelry unless your dress is short...I had ivory and hot pink shoes and I think the only people who even noticed were the ones who were with me when I was getting dressed. If you think you''ll wear the gold ones after the wedding, it would be a shame to get some other color because those shoes are WAY TOO CUTE to sit in the closet!
 
Would love to see a pic of your dress to decide, but based on your comments, you should go with your gut! Those Kate Spade''s are gorgeous!!!

Gold. Otherwise, the bridal store shoes are nice.

Ditto. Even down to the pink shoes. I don''t think anyone noticed I had them on when I was up and walking around.

I think the gold tone will compliment your gown much better than silver.
 
My vote would be for the silver Kate Spade''s! They''re super cute!!
 
Just saw the second pair you posted...they''re cute but if it were me, I''d still be all over the Kate Spades (especially since I''ve been eyeing that style in plum for awhile

The Kate Spade shoe in ivory. It looks very sophisticated and bridal. I think they would be just perfect with your dress!

No, you may never have occasion to wear them again but WTH - you''re only a bride once!
 
I was considering the very same KS white heels! They are very pretty and "out-doorsy".

those kate spades---the bow is such an adorable detail but the other pic you posted has the pearls & bling, which you said will be you''re wedding jewelry. honestly, i don''t think you can go wrong w/any shoes you choose.

what do the silver and gold contenders look like (wanna post a pic for us)?
 
GOLD!!!! but that''s because that''s my fave color of the moment. hehehe

what''s YOUR fave color? why not get it in your fave then? it doesn''t really matter what you wear underneath.
 
FYI, a girl friend of mine wore the Kate Spades for her wedding, and she said they were very comfortable all night long. I vote for them!

I saw them in dark blue once, and they were adoreable too!
 
I want high heels... but comfort is key. Good to know.

There are so many options when it comes to metallic colored shoes- i have not picked my favorites yet to post. i am going to be ordering 10 pairs from zappo''s and then will be walking in my house all weekend to get the most comfy ones!
 
I''d go with ivory. They''ll look very elegant with your dress, and I suspect that you''ll find plenty of opportunities to re-wear them. Ivory pumps... probably not. But strappy ivory sandals are a whole ''nuther story!

The Kate Spade''s you posted are adorable! Glad to see you are ordering lots of different metallic shoes from Zappos! I love their return policy! Definately keep the ones you feel most comfortable in...you will be on your feet most of the day!
 
I vote for the Kate Spade''s in ivory because I love the look against an ivory dress. I may be biased since I plan to wear both ivory dress and shoes. I say ''so what if I won''t have an occassion to wear the shoes again.'' That will definitely be the case for the dress. LOL

It''s not a practical day.

I ordered 4 pairs of shoes from zappos... and the Kate spade Lovers are def the best. HOWEVER... the ivory is a bit darker/ more yellow than my light ivory dress. i just ordered the white to see if that looks better because my dress color is such a light ivory it is almost white... but the swatch i have for my dress is so small... it is hard to tell which shoes match.

i am def trashing the shoes and will only be wearing them once.... I can see 7 hours of wearing ivory silk satin shoes at a indoor/outdoor wedding will kill them, but that is ok.

So.... do i wear shoes that are a tad darker/ more yellow ivory than the dress.... or ones that are brighter white? or keep looking?

Sorry i don''t have pics of shoes with dress, but I can bring the shoes to the store next week to try to confirm.
 
The shoes that i picked are the very first ones posted in this thread- the picture is the ivory and they also come in a white satin.
 
this is almost my dress.... but we are adding some lace asymmetrically in different areas... and this one is a bit different color because it has a pale pink lining and mine will have a ivory lining.... so not sure exactly how the color will be!
