I know I know... I''m SO indecisive! But thanks to the help I''ve received in previous postings, I think I''m VERY close to ''pulling the trigger'' on the final ring!!! I know that many PSers have used WhiteFlash, which is why I really really value y''all''s opinion!

I need help deciding between three settings. One is a six prong, simple setting. My only worry is that 2.7mm will be too wide with my .90 center RB and my short, size 6 fingers.

WF platinum 6 prong ''Tiffany style'' band $600

The next two are four prong ''sleek'' settings from WF. I worry that four prongs won''t be secure enough! (I''m a worrier!) Also, I''m worried about a setting head that sits too high. I''ve read on other forums that the ''Legato'' sleek is lower-profile. Is it worth the extra ~$300?? But I LOVE both of these settings based on the fact that the band is skinny on top and wider at the bottom...

WF platinum ''Legato'' Sleek lines setting

And last but not least... I''m stuck between two ACA H&A .90 carat RBs. One is a F, SI1 and the other is a H, VS2. I know I need to call and see if the F, SI1 is ''eye-clean'' but I thought I would ask you (the experts!!!) on higher color versus better clarity. Is it worth the F if its only SI1?? Is it worth getting a ''warmer'' stone to have VS2? I worry it will look bad with my platinum band. I''m okay with diamonds that have inclusions... just not black ones!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I''m forever indebted to this site and its users...

Both beautiful stones. If it were me I would prefer the higher color stone.

Whiteflash can tell you specifics but the crystals don't seem too obvious. There is no carbon spot anywhere that I can see on the photos.

And its hard to compare these to one's you've seen in person because you don't know if your were comparing apples to apples. A poorly cut stone will emphasis a lower color. And were they even graded by the same company? Call WF. They give you their honest opinion since they are the real experts.

Love the legato sleek lines. I think its worth the extra $300 - how many years do you plan to wear this thing anyway?

I''m sure you''ll get plenty of opinions on the stones but there are some people that prefer whiter and some people with eagle eyes that prefer cleaner stones. Which are you?

Well, to be honest, I haven't seen too many stones in person... 6 to be exact. I saw an SI2 that really bugged me! (It had a black inclusion that could be seen). I also saw an H, VS2 that shined so much more than the G, SI2, but the 'G' seemed whiter and less dark somehow... I couldn't really tell the H was 'yellow' or warm, but it didn't seem as brilliant. (Which could be due to cut...)

So, to roughly answer your questions, I think as long as there isn't a black spot that I can see from 4-6 inches away, I'm good with not having really wonderful clarity. I think more people notice color than clarity anyway....

But I like to hear opinions from the people here... A wonderful pool of experts!

How exciting! I think that you will be happy with either stone. The H will most likely face up very white. I have a G ACA in a 6-prong knife-edge band. I LOVE my diamond but the knife-edge is really starting to bug me. I have really short fingers also but feel that my finger would look better with a flat band. I always wanted a 6 prong but now long for a 4 prong because more diamond is visible. I think that I will have a setting change very soon! Maybe the Legato with micro pave.......

Either is a good choice. Just call WF and they are so nice and helpful, I bet they will tell you which stone is nicer to look at too! As for settings, try searching "legato" and you can see what it looks like with lots of different sized stone. I ordered the legato for my new .81ct that will arrive next week!

My vote would definately be for one of the sleek lines settings. I like 6 prong settings, in fact I have the classic tiffany knife edge setting, but I''m not a fan of the very generic 6 prong "tiffany style" version. Don''t worry about 4 prongs. It will show off the stone better and the sleek lines are much prettier settings IMO. As for the stones, I agree with the PP, ask WF to give your their opinion on which you should go with. Both are going to rock!

H is FINE with platinum though. I''ve had a J and K in platinum! As well as the stones you''re considering are cut, color is not going to be a problem.

Thank you all for the help!! You were right... one call to WF eased all my fears.

I''ve decided on the H, VS2 after talking to Katie and the Sleek lines ring (no legato). I''ve passed along all the information to my BF and emailed Katie all the specifics... Now all I have to do is wait to hear back if they do quarter sizes. (I''m a 6.0 - 6.25 and I prefer 6.25, but I''m willing to go with a 6 since it''s a thicker band).

Forgive the lameness but OMG!!!!!!!!! I''ve picked my ring!!!!!!!

(eeeeeeek!)

Woohoo, Patient1! Good job! Yes, they absolutely do quarter sizes. I''ve got one on my finger. ;) You''re going to LOVE your ring. WF is THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They will take ExCeLlEnT care of you and your ring!

Umm... So now I''m undecided between the WF Sleek line or the WF Legato Sleek Line.

To solve this though I emailed my boyfriend both settings and told him if he wants to talk over the decision we can, or he can choose which one he likes best... so that way he has a say in the overall look of my ring.

Just thought I''d update! Thanks again to all who helped me pick my ring! I''m SOOOOO excited!!!

Yippeee! How exciting!! I think you should try to decide which setting you personally like instead of letting bf pick it out... I personally would be so sad if I got my ring and it wasn''t the setting my heart truly desired.

I loooove the legato... its what I am getting. But the regular sleek line has a higher stance (i.e., the stone sits higher) I think. So there if one important dimension to consider: do you want your stone to sit really low, or to sit a bit higher off your finger?

YEAH for you and your man! You will be very happy with your selection of ring and whichever of those settings works out to be the one will be awesome as well!

Have him put it on hold so no one takes it!

He''s in the process of getting a hold on that stone... It''s just hard with him working to have the time to set up the financing, etc. I know you only need a credit card number to hold the ring, but you only get 24 hrs after that to pay in full. It doesn''t help that we''re going to visit my parents this weekend so that kills his chance to buy over the weekend.

He just tells me not to worry and he''ll take care of it... So I''m doing my best to put my faith in him.

I understand what you mean dreamer_dachsie, but I really don''t know which I like better. I see merits in the more classic and open head of the original sleek but a lower-profile head with the ''swoop'' around the center is pretty too. For me, my main concern was the band... Whatever prong setting I get will take some getting used to... so the few mm''s difference I''m willing to leave up to my BF.

I told him as long as the decision was made by his honest opinion and not a trivial aspect like money, I''d be good with it.

Maybe that''s silly of me, but I like that he will have a final say so in my ring. That''s the old-fashioned gal in me... letting the guy choose.
