Suggestions for Ring Proposal Box

Hello all, I really want to propose with a box that looks like a vending machine capsule (inside joke with my girlfriend). Any ideas on how I could accomplish this? The main thing for me is that I want it to be the size of a standard ring box and also open with a hinge action just like a conventional ring box. Any creative people out there with ideas? I was thinking maybe creating it out of wood and painting the top red and the base white but not sure if that will create the look I am after.c7c3e359-3db7-4ae4-9c75-b41f197a6326.0ede9085f7db46b11b0d31c9816711f5.jpeg

If you search "2 inch empty acorn capsule" you could get an actual plastic vending machine prize container large enough to fit your ring, then get a foam ring insert from a local jeweler, cut it to fit the lid, and glue it to the bottom.

I would prefer it to not be the actual capsule/plastic so that it looks a bit classier for the proposal. Thats why I was thinking trying to perhaps replicate it out of wood but not sure how that may look....

You're going to spend a fortune having this custom made out of wood. How much is this project worth to you?

Here's my recommendation:
Put this into a plastic prize capsule.
Best of both worlds - the sentiment and a beautiful box in a convenient travel size/shape that she that can reuse afterward.

Sorry but the red and white reminds me of a pokeball :)

This.

I vote for having two boxes- a plastic one for the proposal and then a nice one for storage after. I think if you make it out of another material, it just won't have the same affect or look close enough.

Closest I've seen is this acrylic box on SHEIN or a doll house miniature dome that could be painted.

I'm with other posters: have two separate things.

Alternate proposal idea if she is light hearted:
Locate a toy capsule machine near you that has plastic rings in it in advance. On a date (or just a random day for a true surprise) walk by together, spot it, and tell her "one day I'll get you a real one". Buy a toy one for fun and get down on one knee to "fake propose" and hold up the capsule, then reach in your pocket and pull out the actual ring box. SURPRISE!
