First, you're beautiful. Now that we've gotten that out of the way... what a lovely semi-mount! I assume that's an opal triplet? How large is the cab? Depending on how the ring is made, you may or may not be able to replace it with a faceted stone (that has a pavilion). It may need to be another cab. Also, if it's large, that may affect what I recommend for a replacement. In other words, I'd love to suggest a blue or teal sapphire, but if the semi-mount holds a 12x10mm center stone, that could mean a lot of $$$. So I look forward to hearing a little more about this piece!
Fellow cab fan here. Cost- and color-wise, I'd say rubellite. A dusty rose quartz? I know it is not as contrasty as a blue or green but I think the present contrast is too much to the point of being mismatched. Maybe a lovely pale- to medium-green (non-ideal-color) emerald which should be much cleaner and more affordable than a "top" emerald -- plus I like the sweet color even better.
I like the current colour combination and would stick with dark blue green, blue or green.
Well thank you for the kind words! This 59 year YOUNG me really appreciates you.
Yes....it is an opal triplet and has been damaged....not in that photo, but after. You're correct, it is quite a large triplet and my jeweler told me that whatever replaces it has to be another cab. Now, if any one has any suggestions where we can find one I can get the stone measurements from him and he or I could source another triplet. I wouldn't be against another opal triplet, but since it has to be changed I was wondering about other options. Everything that has caught my eye has been $$$$ because that's what kind of eye I have! LOL!! I was even wondering about something green!! A light glowing green......
i do feel quite distraught that the triplet got damaged
it is a show stopper of a ring
best to look at all options if the new reincrantion is going to be as beautiful as it was before the damage
Moonstone?
I’d go for something clear, white or pale pink, personally.
I have seen inexpensive tourmaline cabs, so that would be my choice. The bird on the underside is spectacular!

If you like pale pink, (I do too!) do you have a stone suggestion??
I just googled pink cabochon, 12X10 oval and found a few. Opal, pink chalcedony, pink/rose quartz, morganite cab.
Can't wait to see what you get!

This one would look cool in that ring.
