I was able to take advantage of the morning sun for once and I took the opportunity to capture some of my favorite stones. I even took the time to pull out my gorillapod!

Unfortunately I didn't take the time to clean them beforehand. Sorry.

But I had to share anyway!

HI:

Such a pleasure to wake up to pretty faces! Thanks for sharing!

cheers--Sharon

Omg that red spinel!!!! I've died and gone to heaven

Great pictures, but I love that red spinel. (Red is my favorite color. )

Thanks for the pictures. :wavey:

Those are all GORGEOUS spinels, Freke!!! I love the purple 3 stone collection, especially the asscher!!

Wow - when I'm on spinel search, would you be willing to assist me? You clearly rock the spinel world, and sure know what you're looking for! I love your collection (and still just love looking at your dangling DanielM "jackets" - those are AWESOME!) :appl:

You've got my heart going a mile a minute! These are beautiful!! Please, let me know if you ever need a loving home for that periwinkle beauty.

I just LOVE your collection!!! The purples are just so stunning, and I would just die to inherit your lovely new dangles one day!

Thank you so much for providing the delightful eye candy

There is nothing I don't love in your collection. If I was absolutely forced to pick, I would say the red spinel is my favorite.

Lovely spinels! The periwinkle is my fav.

Love all of them! Especially the asscher, gorgeous!

Thanks everyone! I have setting plans for most of them, but they are some of my faves and I hadn't really gotten decent pics of them yet. I should have taken them on white/gray background instead of on the wood floor though.

Its funny you should say that. I really don't like taking them on white background, because it throws the color of the stone so far off. Instead, I try to take them on boring old grey or tannish surfaces where there is much less of a contrast. There's just too much contrast with white backgrounds.

Well I was thinking that then it wouldn't make it look so much warmer. The red is what you see on the screen, but the purples...their color is all off. I think the pictures are neat because of the way the lighting bounces around in the stone, but these pics do nothing for the body color on those three. I think if they were on a more neutral background, it'd help a lot more.

Next time!

And for the record, Peter's pic really played down the red, and did not do it justice at all, which is probably why it was around for a while! I believe it was sitting on his site for about 2 years....
