Super Ideal ~0.8ctw J studs - Will J be too warm at at this size?

Hello all!

Considering a diamond stud purchase from one of our fantastic super ideal vendors. What is everyone’s thought on J color for studs that are ~0.8ctw? Will these be okay and face up white enough or do I need to consider going up in color to a minimum of I? Set in WG baskets.

For reference, ER (1.7ct) and pendant (0.5ct) are super ideal I color. I can notice a ‘very subtle’ tint when viewing from side angle, but overall not that color sensitive to the point where it bothers me.

I know smaller diamonds will “show” less color than a much larger stone. Interested in your thoughts and if you have any experience in this size/color range for stud earrings! Cheers.

My BGD 1.40 CTW studs are graded I and J and they are not bright white but they don't look yellow or brown either.

I have 1ctw J ACA studs. I do notice the tint if I hold them between my fingers, but not when they are in my ears and im looking in the mirror. I just notice the sparkle. I think it’s a great way to save a little money if they will be earrings.

I have a .46 super ideal J and in my opinion, you just don't "see" the color in this size stone like you do with bigger stones.
Not bright white but still bright, IMO. If you're ok with "I"s, I* think you may be ok with Js.

I have sold many J and K colors for earrings. I have had very few upgrade to a higher color. As long as your vendor has a good upgrade policy, you will be fine.

I would be fine with J's in that size earrings. I have I color ACA's about 1.7 ctw and they look white and sparkly as earrings. I don't think J's will be too warm.

I recently got my 0.87 ctw studs which are K color. I guess I’m not very color sensitive but I can honestly not see the difference face up when I compare them to my H color e-ring.. see pic:

J is too warm for me so is I. I ordered a pair of studs around this size from BGD a few years ago and while the cut was amazing as expected the color wasnt for me personally

If you know iou aren’t color sensitive it would not hurt to try J’s. If you see them and like them then you’re good. If not, try again. No loss to you. Only upside.

I wore .83ctw J ACAs for about 10 years until I upgraded. The color never bothered me…they were so sparkly and beautiful!
