OK ladies, many of you have shared what you thought the sweetest thing your bf/husband has done for you. I''m curious to hear the other side, what is the sweetest thing you''ve done for him?

I think the sweetest thing my gf did for me was during a business trip I took to Sydney, Australia. I''m not sure when or how she did it, but at some point the night I packed, she wrote up a bunch of small love notes (on post-it''s) and hid them throughout my things. I found notes in the book I brought along to read, in my computer case, in my toiletries, etc. They were everywhere and I can''t begin to tell you how happy finding each one made me. Being so far away from her was tough but the notes made me feel so great.

I''m a lucky guy :)

I don''t know if my husband would agree, but the sweetest thing I think I ever did for him was to surprise him with his father''s wedding ring. His father died about 5 years ago, and his mom had his white gold ring. My husband had picked out a yellow gold ring that he really liked. Before our wedding, I secretly emailed his mom to ask her if she would send his dad''s ring to me, which she did. I had it polished and re-rhodiumed, but I couldn''t quite get the size correct, so I had to surprise him with the ring before our actual wedding day. He was really surprised! I asked him if he would like to wear it as his wedding ring instead of the one I bought him, but he said no, he wanted to wear our ring, and he now wears his dad''s on his right hand (even though they''re different colors).

Haha, I got him his Playstation 2 although I really didn't want him to have it. He loves it and plays it every single day and I put up with it.

Giving him what he really wanted .... and putting up with it every since.

Or how about spending countless nights (even Fridays!) in the law library helping him organize and work on his Law Journal comment?

Hehe, I just asked my boyfriend what he thought the sweetest thing I ever did for him was, and he said the time he was playing video games with his cousins and was like "Man, my hands hurt" and I just walked over to him and massaged his hands to get him ready for the next round.

I''m a little embarrassed that that''s all he could come up with, but when I said that he went on and on about how sweet it was and how much it meant to him, and how it really surprised him by being the type of thing he wouldn''t EXPECT and that making it so much sweeter.

My boyfriend and I are long-distance and don''t see each other that often, especially since I left for school, so when we do spend some time together, we spoil each other rotten...

We always do sweet littles things like massages or make breakfast or lunch.

One time I remember he seemed very happy was last Easter. I had left for school in January and was coming back to celebrate with my family and he came to spend a couple of days of the long weekend with us. Being the poor, broke college student that I am, I couldn''t afford a big chocolate, so I got him something meaningful: a single rose from Laura Secord, with the petals painted with white chocolate. When I gave it to him, I said: "White roses represent eternal love." He asked: "Is that what you want?" and I answered: "I''m not asking for it, but I''m giving it to you."

He literally swept me off my feet. He grabbed me and spun me around and I squealed in delighted surprise and he kissed me breatheless. Like many guys, he''s usually not a very expressive and emotional person, so it was a very special moment. I think he was overjoyed to hear me say I want to love him for the rest of my life. It was pretty obvious to me that that was what I wanted, but I suppose he couldn''t guess if I hadn''t told him!

Thinking back on it, it might even be at that moment that he decided he was going to propose to me next year.

Oh, and Easter before that I gave him a pick-up truck as a chocolate. He told everyone at school that his girlfriend had bought him a truck...

I think I forgot to respond to the other one, but here''s what he''d say was the sweetest thing I''d done for him.

We did a year of long distance (aka hell) and the combination of low paying new graduate jobs, grad school and work schedules meant we ended up having less time and money than we intended for traveling to see each other. So Labor Day weekend I told him I was stuck working at some events at work, and he believed me, because that''s where I usually was. And I booked airfare out to DC for the weekend to surprise him. So he''d come straight home, I had told him that I''d sent some pizzas (he likes Chicago deep dish and I don''t care what anyone says, it is never as good outside of the city, and they pack them with dry ice to ship) so he needed to get to his apt to sign for them before the mail room closed. So that Friday I spent the afternoon with some friends and then went to wait in his lobby. I called him and was just like the usual, what are your plans for the weekend. He said he was going to meet up with a friend and I was like eh, I bet you dinner at my favorite restaurant that you won''t go. So of course he was like you''re nuts, of course I''m going to go and then you''ll owe me dinner! So I was like fine...and then he said he had to go because he was at his bldg and the reception would cut out, and as he''s walking up to the doors he sees me, and was SO confused, lol, it was perfect, and he loved that I was able to do that with out him knowing. And of course he had to take me to my favorite restaurant out there since he didn''t end up having his original plans

But I think the dinner was a small price to pay for a weekend he says was one of his favorites

Said yes when he asked me to marry him!!

I''m totally kidding.

I really don''t know, I haven''t done anything out of the ordinary, at least I don''t think I have. In the beginning he liked that I showed graditude when we went out, he said it made him feel like I appreciated it instead of expected it. One time he was having a craving for something and I told him I''d go get it for him. He didn''t let me but he said it made him happy that I offered.

This is hard, I feel like I can''t even begin to compare to all the sweet and good things that he has done for me.

Now that I think about it, I''m sweet, but not like, SWEETEST thing, sweet! Hm. I''d have to say that I go to all of the games he coaches for (and that''s two different schools, all weekend long). In fact, we have two games tonight, two tomorrow, and a few on Sunday! I think he just loves me because I spoil and baby him when he gets sick. And I cook ALL the dinners in the house. Is that sweet? I just love him. It''s simple.

Nothing too extravagant, but when he had his Brazil trips I would always take him to the airport, an then pick him up when he got back, except that his return flights usually came in at 5:30 am on Saturdays, so I''d get up super early and go pick him and then we''d go to breakfast. One time I had a bottle of crown (his favorite) waiting for him at his apartment. Another time I left a sweet card thanking him for all the wonderful things he does for me in his apartment for him to find.

I try to do nice things all the time like make a nice dinner for him or help him pack for a business trip or buy him gifts for no reason.

However, I think the sweetest thing I''ve ever done was to nurse him back to health when he broke his leg. Luckily, he could go to the bathroom by himself, but that was about it. I had to bathe him and dress him and feed him. I went with him to all his follow-up doctors appointments and monitored his physical therapy. Maybe I should go into nursing!

I had got a key to his house from his mom when he still was living at home. I had cleaned his room for his and took his laundry home to do it for him. i then proceeded to take rose petals and cover his bed with rose petals... then i wrote up about 30 strips of paper and on each one told him things on why i loved him... i got 30 helium ballons and tied each message to a ballon... so when he walked into the room he had a bed full of rose petals.. a clean room and a celing full of baloons... he loved it!

You told your boyfriend? *giggle* *blush*
Yes, it was a perfect moment, just like in the movies!

I like to imagine he will do that again when I''ll say "Yes"!

beanie - That is so sweet!!! Lucky guy!

Okay, so now that the super romantic stories are coming out, its gotten me thinking .....

one time I put "I love you" in about 100 different languages posted all around his room while he was gone ...

and the sweetest thing and the hardest thing? I''m desperately trying to learn Vietnamese. Its probably more sweet for his family than it is for him because I know that its important to their family traditions (that''s all his family speaks when they''re all together.)
And if any of you have tried to learn a tonal language, you know that its hard!!
