We''ll probably end up doing a sweetheart table at the reception...show me photos, pretty please????

Schnapp, I had a sweetheart table, but there aren't really photos of it. Bear with me while I try to describe the set-up! Our room was a theater (flat floor), so there was a large stage, and then where the orchestra would be, there was a dancefloor. We put the cake table on stage left at the edge of the dance floor, and then the tables started. Basically, all our tables were rounds for 8 people, and then the sw<3 was a square for 2. At the edge of the dance floor in the center, we put the sw<3 at an angle like a diamond with the points going toward the stage and the back of the room. DH and I sat next to each other with our backs to the dance floor/facing the room. The tables closest to us were our parents' tables; bridal party was spread throughout the room sitting with their mutual friends. Serving tables were in the back of the room, and our set up was kinda strange, but gifts and the bar were in separate adjoining rooms.

I stressed a LOT with placing the sw<3, because I'd never seen one done. I really wanted to be off to the side in the back, but the caterer/planner talked me out of it. I'm glad we had it where we did; the room definitely made sense, and I loved having the table closest to the dance floor.

ETA: I just realized - is set-up what you were asking? Or centerpieces? We just had the same linens/centerpieces as everyone else, except I flipped the colors on our table number decoration thing. Since there was a bit of an "empty space" at the point of the table, that's where I put my bouquet. Eventually, I put my veil there, too. It was pretty :)

Actually, this helps! I was just trying to get an idea of how to decorate it, but I hadn''t quite figured out our set up either. Your description makes sense. The reception hall we''re renting is not a big 4-sided ball room, but there are corners and I think it makes the most sense to put a sweetheart table in ther corner, facing our guests, but separated by a few tables, then the dance floor, then more tables across the dance floor. I''ve got our centerpieces figured out but I was looking online at sweetheart tables and how they''re decorated and I wasn''t thrilled with what I saw - lots of billowy tulle and bows. I like flowers/roses/petals, candles, etc...but I would like the tale to look sharp and neat.
