I need a new swimsuit (2 piece), and I did some browsing yesterday, and I don''t know the first place to start? Questions:

1) Recommended brands?

2) Recommended styles? I am quite thin, very tall, and have small boobs. Want to make the girls look bigger!!!

Any ideas?

Victoria''s Secret has great swimwear. I''ve ordered from them several times and they have a great return policy plus you can''t beat the quality vs. price factor. I am a 34C and I really like some of the Beach Sexy styles--triangle tops with wide bands and straps (not the sliding triangle tops), and wide banded hipster bottoms with just enough coverage. The sizes run big, I typically wear a medium top and large bottom but I had to exchange for smaller sizes the first time I ordered from them.

I love J crew. They offer the same idea as VS (I have bought from them as well) with the separates. I tend to get from J Crew, since their stuff wears well and doesn''t bleach out in the sun. Plus I am a D cup gal, and my size is hard to find. I got this super cute suit just this week, and it fits like a glove!!

I was going to say Victoria''s Secret too. The have great suits that are cute and made for every shape. Their tops from the miracle bra collection are great if you want to add a lil somethin

. I bought one and actually ended up giving it to a friend who needs more help in that dept than I do! I highly reccomend ordering a few from them, and just return what you don''t want. Oh and FYI! I love their pants too bc you can order them super long, and I know you have problems with that...
Good Luck!

I am in Canada, and I need something soon, so no ordering from VS or J. Crew. But I really like the style of the J. Crew one posted - i think the halter look can help the girls.

Ugh... Well that makes it more difficult. I don''t know what to reccommend. I live in Florida so there is never not a place to buy a suit. Can you order from anywhere? Do you guys have and TJ Maxx or Marshall''s up there, I have found some of my favs there!

HI:

For year I bought only Gottex suits, b/c they always had formed cups--and fit my small frame well. Now with tons more options around, I usually find something at Swimco. Bandeau styles work well (boning on sides and padding) and I have a great one from Leilani I bought there. On a lark I went into Lace and Things ? (La Senza''s sister company) and found a really cute halter tankini which I''ve worn to death. I would also check out The Bay--they really do carry a fairly large assortment of suits.

P.S. I have to try on 15 suits before I find ONE that is OK--so buying online would be out for me. Oh and I tried on some Burberry suuits at Holts, and they sucked on me.

cheers--Sharon

Thanks, Canuk. Have you tried any of the Roxy suits at Swimco? I was at the mall last night with Miller (so no trying things on!!!), and they had a bunch that looked cute.

HI:

Yup--I have two Roxy bikini''s I bought at the shop at the Delta Hotel n Kanaskasis; they were 1/2 price so I thought if I didn''t were them but once or twice no biggie. As it turned out I wore them quite a lot in PS last year. I ususally do not migrate to such skimpy wear, but at $45 bucks each, what the heck and they fit rather well....

cheers--Sharon

I also think the halter top style would work (and maybe stripes or pattern would additionally help)...

BCBGMAXAZRIA striped halter bikini

Shoshanna gingham halter

Shoshanna madras halter

Milly Cabana St. Lucia halter

I could have sworn I remember hearing the bandeau top helped in this area as well... and IIRC, my girls looked nice in a bandeau I had.

Vitamin A striped bandeau

Jessica Simpson Seaside bandeau (now, I have to mention this because I immediately noticed this and I would go outta my mind if this effect occurred... if those little circles were right over the um... yanno... it would realllllly bother me! I''m just not into a target or something just as weird... I tried on a shirt yesterday that tied under the bust and the ties on either side made them look like tassles lol- needless to say I didn''t buy the thing)

La Blanca keyhole bandeau

Sera - thanks for the great suggestions. Wish me luck in the shopping!

Have you considered a bandeau type top?
The reason I mention this is because it draws the eye across, not up and down.
Also if you are long waisted, maybe a boy short would look nice with a bandeau top.

Did someone say SWIMSUITS???? ACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am hiding my head in the sand. Not on my almost 59 year old body. EGAD!!!!!!!!!!!
