We are creating a website for our out of town guests mainly (as well as local) to provide them with accomodation information etc. This website will be included on the Save the Date Magnets that we are sending out as a "for more information www.bla bla bla." Is it tacky to include registry information on this website? The registry link when the STDs are sent will say "TBD, Spring 2006" since our Save the Dates are going out early (we''re getting married the Sat after Thanksgiving)and we will not have registerd yet, but then guests would be aware of it? Or is it better to not include it at all?

That''s where the links to the registries are for the two weddings I''m going to this month. I''m thinking it''s totally normal practice. My fi kept comenting on how much easier it was for him: ''click, click, click, done!''.

I don''t think it''s tacky to have it included on the website. I think it would be tacky to include it on the save the date or the invitation, but even the knot''s websites have a place for a registry link.

I think it is generally OK to put it on the website.. Mine were on my knot website..

Anyway.. just wanna make sure that you mean to put "TBD, Spring 2007!" not 06

Everything that I have read has said never to include information about your registry.

That being said, it is a website and links are helpful. However, why don''t you post something like... check back for updates... and when you''ve actually registered, then put it on there.

OMG, I''m an idiot--thanks for that!!

I think your plan is perfect! That''s exactly what my DH & I did, actually. We had a DW & having a thorough website was essential. We made sure the site was up & running with all pertinent information on the wedding, travel, etc. before the STDs went out. We included the site''s address on both the STDs & wedding invitations. We didn''t register until a few months before our wedding (STDs went out 6 months in advance), so the registry section was blank until then. We didn''t have any problems with doing it this way. Everything I read said it was acceptable (and desirable) to put registry information on your wedding website.

I like Amanda''s idea of saying "check back for updates." We did this on our site too.

This is the age of the internet. I say go for it. The weddings I''ve paid attention to had stuff like that. Most wedding guides don''t even mention websites. That just means they''re outdated. You can''t follow everything to a T anyways so you gotta adjust to your situation (and bring it up to current times apparently).

I put our registry info on the website after we registered.
