Tacori 2510 in Yellow Gold with OEC

Hello fellow PS-ers!

My SO proposed on Saturday evening with a beautiful ring -- A chocolate bunny was harmed during the proposal but it was for a good cause!

The ring:

Tacori 2510 in yellow gold. Channel set stones, 0.67 carats (I think). I've always loved yellow gold but I was hesitant to get it for my setting because I would get mixed reactions when talking about yellow gold and it doesn't seem 'on trend' right now. But i'm really glad I went with my gut, the yellow gold makes the stones pop and I can see the detail work of the setting very easily.

The centre stone is a 1.1 OEC, GIA I/J, SI1 with STRONG blue fluor Can't wait to get my hands on a UV light. Stone is from JbEG.

Ring size 5.25

I have to add that if it weren't for PS, I would never have known about antique cuts! When I first set out looking at e-rings, I felt ho-hum about round brilliants but then....OECs and OMCs! Looking at other people's antique cuts sealed the deal for me! I still remember my first reaction to seeing an OEC, "What IS that?! I want one!" and "But I don't understand, antique cuts, why have I never heard of this before?". In the few days I've been wearing my ring, I've tried explaining a few times that it's an antique cut but no one has really understood. I think I need to work on my explanation and delivery (and probably choice of person I'm trying to explain it to).

Sarahbear - Most likely I'll be going with the matching wedding band with a 18K yg spacer. We went to try it on yesterday and it looks spectacular and blingy!

A funny thing is happening now that I have my ring in real life...I'm realizing that my rock is pretty big compared to most! I was suffering from DSS as I shopped online for my stone and now that I have it, it's like "Woah, it's pretty big compared to what I'm seeing around here!". Lucky me!

It looks amazing in yellow gold! It looks so antique-y that it could have stepped right out of my new favorite TV show, "Downton Abbey" (though I realize that diamonds weren't as popular in engagement rings back then).

Oh maccers, it is beautiful! I am absolutely with you on the yellow gold - its timeless. My older & younger sisters plus my mum wear YG wedding rings & they look so classy I only wear platinum because its what my husband proposed with - I had no input on the ring.
