It happened last night! We flew up to NY to visit family. We went to our usual restaurant and he got down on his knee before my parents, brothers, sister-in-law and his son and asked me to marry him! I was in shock. I didn''t even answer him right away. He asked me what the answer was and I said, "Of course!" I was so suprised that he would do it before my family because he is very shy, but I was wrong. I''m off to call friends now, I''ll post pics as soon as possible!

Thanks to everyone for the support and well wishes. I am still in shock! We finally came home around 7:00 tonight. It was a LONG weekend, but well worth it. He is so cute, I didn''t think that he would change much, but he''s so sweet calling me his future wife and talking about kids already (I''m not that ready, but I guess I will have to be soon...lol) Anyway, it was really sweet. I couldn''t put all the details up on Saturday as we had running around to do and people to surprise, but here''s a quick synopsis...

He planned the trip to NY to propose but I thought it was to see his family. EVERYONE except my mom knew what was going on, she would have blown the surprise. So I told him that we could surprise my parents with our visit at dinner and claim that they needed to meet my brothers at the restaurant b/c they were celebrating the youngest son''s belated birthday. Anyway they came to my brothers apt. instead and saw us there where we caught up and laughed at their expense, or alteast I thought it was at their expense. Well, in reality they knew dinner was planned for me and they knew what he was going to do. So we walked up to the restaurant, he walked steps ahead of me, which usually isn''t a big deal, but now I know it was cause he was so nervous. Anyway, they usher us to sit next to my parents and my brothers, sister-in-law and his son sit next to us. My mother mentions that she was speaking to her sister and they wanted to know when we were going to get married. He turns to me and says, "I guess now is as good a time as any" then drops to the floor on his knee and props open the box while. He tells me he loves me and asks me to marry him. My heart stopped beating. I felt like I was dead. Complete and utter shock. I didn''t answer. I hugged him and whispered, "you gotta be kidding me, are you serious, really, omg, omg, omg, are u kidding me...etc" finally he put it on my finger, we walked outside and he asked me what the answer was. I said of course and we kissed. Neither one of us had an appetite after that. So we watched everyone else eat. I was a very surreal feeling. I think I''m still in shock that he got down before my WHOLE ITALIAN family. They usually scare people...not this time.

He had a few other plans that were foiled,
1 - go to the Brooklyn promenade (where we first exchanged I love yous to one another)
2- have his son get down on a knee and as me "will you marry us"
He''s so cute.

Anyway it was really nice. And now...the pics.....

He had my sister in law''s jewler in bklyn make the setting in white gold, b/c I''d rather more money go into the stone while still getting a unique setting. the original setting was found on blue nile, but they wanted 1250 for it in plat. he didn''t disclose the exact amount spent, but i know the setting was much less than bn. the jewler placed .20 round brilliants on each side, as opposed to bn .10. the center stone is .75 ct G color vs2 (?) don''t remember if it was vvs2 or vs2. the cert is packed so after we unpack I can type up the table dimmensions and extra info...

I have a cannon powershot s50 that I''m trying to work with. It''s hard to take pics of the ring w/out help, my dad used his camera to take the photos I''ve uploaded previously. I am going to play with the ring tomorrow after work. Hopefully I can get a good side view and some good close ups.

thanks! you can see the setting better on bluenile, but i cant believe how accurate our bklyn jewler was! i am in love. I''m so happy that i didn''t sacrafice my setting for a bigger stone, I think it makes all the difference. yippee!!!!
