Warning super long entry read at your own risk
Hi Everyone it has been a long time since I have posted (and I rarely ever do) but a lot has happened. The most exciting event has been that J and I are engaged!!! I am extremely happy. He proposed June 21 in the water at one of the beaches in St. Maartan. We had gone on a cruise with his parents and younger sister and I really had no idea that he was going to propose, in fact nobody did except my parents because he had secretly asked for their blessing the week earlier. When he asked I was so completely caught off guard I kept on asking him if he was kidding and when it sunk in of course I said yes and immediately started jumping up and down because I was so excited and somewhere between the proposal and my jumping I lost my sunglass in the water, J and I say that it was our “sacrifice” to the water gods of St. Maarten for allowing us to get engaged in their ocean hehe. The following day J and I go for a walk on the ship and he takes me to a secluded spot and proposes yet again this time telling me all the romantic things he meant to tell me yesterday so of course I start crying and I say “yes” again. Later that night we announcement to his family and they are ecstatic. When we got home we took my parents out to dinner under the pretense that it was a belated Father’s day present and we tell them the good news and that they had to keep it a secret because we wanted to announce the engagement at my “graduation” party. But before we could begin planning the party we had to go and visit his grandmother in Las Vegas to let her know she gave us her blessing and passed on their family Bible to us. J and I had to keep the engagement a secret for four weeks and it was extremely difficult but during that time I had designed and ordered our announcements and picked out a ring. At the party J was the one to tell everyone and he did by simply grabbing the mike and saying “thank you for coming to our engagement party.” It was hilarious watching everyone’s reaction the people closest to us immediately jumped up and gave us a hug. My cousin was stunned and couldn’t believe it and our friends, who were in the very back of the room, heard “Asian party” and “Agent party.” And they did not know what was going on until J had to repeat in the mike “we’re getting married.” Since the party life has been full of phone calls, lunches/dinners to catch up with people and other events as well as waiting for my ring. I had ordered the setting from Solomon Brothers and they said that it would take four weeks to make and there were correct, in fact I later learned that the setting had been completed earlier. J and I shipped the ring and stone to Whiteflash who set it (the diamond is from Whiteflash) and it is beautiful!!!! But let me tell you J completely messed with my mind with this ring. He knew that ever since we sent the stone and setting that I was on pins and needles waiting for it to arrive. I had already done research and made an estimate that my ring would have arrived Thursday August 11. And J knew that I was checking his email for verification from whiteflash about the shipment date etc. SO J had whiteflash send a fake email saying that I wouldn’t get the ring until Wednesday August 16. Of course I was extremely upset. When the 11th rolled around and J wanted to take me to dinner as an early 1.5 year anniversary present it crossed my mind that he had the ring but whenever I brought up the topic he looked just as sad about the delay as I did so I was convinced that he didn’t have it. After dinner we strolled around The Grand Californian Hotel and he took me to this grassy area where we had our first date and started tell me how much he loved me and then he went down on one knew and proposed again with the ring!!!!!! I was so shocked that I lost my balance (I was wearing 4 inch stilettos). Afterwards J said that I got to have every type of proposal and I must agree all three are quite memorable.
