My BF bought the stone before the holidays and I bought the ring a few weeks ago. We took it into the jeweler''s to get a new head and we were waiting to hear back to take the stone in. Last week I found out my Aunt died and I went out of town with my parents to attend the funeral. While I was away, my BF took in the stone and got the ring back.
He managed to surprise me when I got back. I knew the ring was at the jewelers, but I thought it would take another week or so to hear back. We weren''t planning on a big proposal, but I''m so glad he managed to catch me off guard! We were both getting dressed and he was in his underwear
He was keeping the ring in his sock drawer so I didn''t think anything of it, and then he turned around and in a kind of silly way he asked me, "Do you still love me and want to spend the rest of your life with me?" We do this a lot, so I still wasn''t catching on, but then he brought out the box and I was so giddy! I think I went around squealing with glee for a full half hour or so.
The ring is pretty simple, but I like it that way. It''s a lot like our relationship. We both have been through a lot, but together we''ve learned to really appreciate a lot of the simple things in life. The stone is .41 ct, G, VVS1. The band is 14k white gold cathedral, but the head is a platinum v-prong. I absolutely adore it, and I can''t stop looking at it!
