TanTowels

Has anyone ever used these? I am deffinitely pale and have tried just about every tanning product under the sun. Last summer the product of choice was Jergen''s or Aveeno''s Tanning Lotions... but I wasn''t getting as much color from them as I would have liked. So, after reading so many good reviews about TanTowels (I bought them from hsn.com) I took the plunge.

I so want to make these work and it seems like a great idea. You just open the towel wipe it over your body and it dries clear within seconds. I tried them once and was not happy with the outcome, they were definitely streaky.

Do any of you try these? Have any tips? It seems like the trick with these is the application, but I put it on in a circular motion as directed. The color was good, but it was streaky!

I''ve never used those but I have used the Loreal tan towels with good results. I have become something of an expert with sunless tanning over the years and this is one of my favorite products. I''ve found that it helps to go back over and over (with the same towel) during application so that any streaks are blended. I usually put a little lotion on my feet and knees when I''m done to help blend the tanner into those areas better. I have some friends who swear by applying lotion to everywhere after using the tan towel to prevent streaks but it seems to dilute the color a bit much for my tastes although it could be great for gradual tanning. Once i get a color I''m happy with I use the Jergens lotion to make it last longer (kind of keeps the color without turning me orange).

I cannot help you with the tan towels. They sound like hell to me! I can barely take off make up with a baby wipe - how could I hope to tan my whole body with a tan towel about the same size!

I am the type of person who paints her nails then picks everything up - just to smudge. When I tan I sleep in crazy inhuman positions just to mess it up.

I only ever have had sucess since they launched these tanning moisturisers! Thank goodness, So I tan layer by layer, and can only mess up one layer at a time.

I also second using moisturiser on knees, ankles, feet, elbows etc!

I have been a big user of tantowels for years and I get them off ebay for much cheaper! But having said that I gone ''off'' them a bit. They are very easy to use hardly any mess but lately they seem too drying for my *ahem* mature skin. I prefer to use the tan moisturisers now
My 16 year old loves them and they give her a gorgeous quick cover

Katebar, do you have any tips to get a less streaky application? I went out today and bought the L''Oreal Sublime Bronze Towlettes and am going to try those tonight. I heard they were highly recommend as well.

Thanks for the ebay tip, but I need to get the appliaction down. I know people who swear by them, and the application process couldn''t be easier, so I''m trying to make them work for me.

You really need to exfoliate well and I use the circular motion to apply but my DD uses the slap it on approach and it is never streaky go figure1
I think its more to do with her supple skin
