I purchased this unheated, untreated sapphire from Mastercut Gems. It was cut by Dana Reynolds. He described it as "neon teal." Dana said it is "a blend of yellow and blue zoning and they blend together well to give an unusually bright gem."

I think the cutting gives it quite a bit of sparkle. The facets are what I would call thin and there are many facets. It has a shallow crown and the facets on the table are chunky. Dana called the cut a "Modified Round Brilliant." I can't quite capture the color I see in real life with photos. Sometimes it is Steel blue, sometimes Teal, sometimes light Denim blue.

Dana listed the clarity as VVS. It is 1.445 cts and 7.3 mm. My jeweler thinks it's closer to 7.4 mm.

These two photos were taken on an overcast day inside next to a window. I haven't seen this Teal since. I see much more blue.

Here it is at sitting outside on a patio. Filtered bright sunlight. Lots of sparkle going on.

This photo was taken in bright sunlight up against a buttercream wall.

It's really pretty. I love the color.

Do you mind if I ask how much your Stuller setting was and how much to set it? I don't know what to do with my sapphire...

Here it's what I would call Steel Blue. Inside with no natural light. A mixture of Halogen lights and incandescent lights.

Outside no flash filtered light sun. Profile view showing the details of the setting.

Outside no flash light sun. Shows off the shank and how it meets the head of the setting.

Thanks @whitewave I feel like I've taken SO many photos and not really captured the colors I see with my eyes. I may need to take my phone out of it's case for more photos. I think the stone is very reflective and may be throwing back a bit of my phone case color.

My local jeweler does the setting himself and charges me a flat fee for the setting from Stuller and his work. It depends on the cost of gold, settings that weigh more cost more. Right now it's about $350. A couple years back gold was less and setting stones into Stuller settings cost less. HTH

Of course we need 100 photos!

Lovely colour shifter! I enjoy the photos and look forward to viewing more.

Beautiful!! That is a cool sapphire! Dana has cool stuff I can’t seem to find anywhere else. When did you purchase this beauty?

Thanks @Burmesedaze I am now wondering if all sapphires are really color shifters. Since I like all shades of blue I'm happy with the shifting of this stone.

Thanks @chatoyancy I have owned this stone for years and have just gotten it set. Dana had the rough for 10 years before he cut it. So it took about 18 years to get from rough to set.

That is how it often happens. My husband just set the black opal he bought for our 5th anniversary on a visit to Australia. He bought just bought the paraiba I set with it in June though. It only took 13 years!

The important part is that you had it set, and are enjoying its beauty! I am convinced that all spinels are shifty and that all but the most saturated sapphires are.

Your ring turned out very nice! Thats one of my favorite Stuller settings!

@tyty333 Thanks. I like how the shank tapers before it gets to the basket.

Beautiful stone, I like the color shift! Pretty setting too!

@alene Thanks! I am pleased with both the stone and the setting. Because it's a sapphire I feel comfortable wearing it every day.

Finally got to see the dark teal again. At night in a poorly lit room with some indirect incandescent lighting.

Very beautiful and unique sapphire ring! I like how your sapphire has different looks and personalities.

SO beautiful! Love the color and the setting, looks so pretty on you!

Thanks @LisaRN and @junebug17
This stone does have tons of personality and I'm really enjoying wearing it.
