trying to decide for an old mine cut- tapered or straight baguettes? What to consider? Thanks!

Do you want a Deco vibe? Straight baguettes have a more Deco look to me.

I usually think of modern cuts with tapered baguettes.

I want a deco look, I have gone back and forth several times but ultimately I think I am going to go with straight. I like to stack bands too and I think this will make it easier

I really don’t think it’ll have any effect on the band stacking.

I agree straight is more art deco, I think a round with taper bags is more traditional modern HW. Just depends what you’re looking for. I also may have a different opinion depending on the size.

I think I want an older look. Size of the old mine is 2.74. I am not going for large side stones, just small baguettes.

split the difference -- subtle taper

For an old cut I would do straight baguettes too. I think it stays consistent with the era of the main stone cut.
