I was just at the maul yesterday at Anna-Louise Jewellers, and I tried on a teeny tiny diamond eternity band

It was $300 or $400 CAD (14k white gold) maybe 1mm wide or less

Melee was I1, G color.

I think it was .33ct total weight

The diamonds were sparkly in the store, but I didn''t take it outside.

I probably shouldn''t buy from a maul store, but I''m so impatient for bling.

What do you think? would you go for it?

I don''t think PS vendors make anything that small - I worry going custom with aca melee from WF could break the bank!

Cheers,

HopeDream, not ALL jewelry bought at the mall is completely awful. It can be really hard for most consumers who aren''t educated about what they''re looking at to separate the decent stuff from the yucky stuff, though. Did you loupe the ring to see just how included their definition of I1 is? In the end, if you really love it, that''s the most important thing -- not where it was purchased. But if it''s more the idea of bling and not the ring itself that you love, hold off until you can get more bling for your bucks!

Don't do it!!

You can get a 1mm eternity band or semi-eternity band for a comparable price from a better vendor....you just can't be sure of cut (and I wouldn't want to risk I1 in teeny melee stones, no way!) with the maul. Have you looked on ebay at Lord of Gem Rings or online at signed pieces?

ETA: Ok, a cursory search is not turning up anything quite that inexpensive...
However on e-bay I bet you could find something from LOGR. Here's one that's too thick, but on the right track.

I can''t post a link to the piece I have in mind due to PS rules, but if you look, I bet you''ll find some very pretty rings in that price range.

HD, what''s your size?

Hi, thanks for all your help!

Octavia: I didn''t ask to loupe the ring because I didn''t want the sales associate to think I was too serious about buying, and I didn''t want to be dissapointed ..just yet..
I''m quite picky, so you''re very right, I should save up and get something mindclean.

Blueroses and Suchende: I was hoping someone would help me shop

I might check with lord of gem rings, or any other suggestions you have

My ring size is 5 (middle finger, left hand).

Thanks!

yes, don't do it, try an alternative, I have a few LOGR rings, and while they are not ACAs, they are still very pretty and clean and bright stones.

ETA; I have a bezel band from WF, and its 1 pointer, it really shimmers, it doesn't have the huge sparkle effect, so if you can get maybe 2 pointers, then definitely you can see the sparkle more, if that makes sense. But I also hear that single cut on smaller stones help with the sparkle factor versus Full cut melees like WF maybe something to think about as well, it has to do with the number of facets less on single = bigger flashes

Jewels by Erica Grace may have a very pretty and sizable half eternity for $225. The listing I am thinking of is not on their website, but rather on another website that PS won''t let me link to.

Suchene, I thought of that listing immediately as well, but just checked and it is for a size 7, Bev K/Pearlmans 1.5mm, someone we know maybe got an upgrade? Sorry that one isn''t the right size HopeDream, but if there is one out there, we should be able to find you another...if you are interested in vintage or estate pieces with high quality stones?

Oh! found one link

Again, does anyone have any idea what site PS won''t let these people link to? Or rather, could someone identify the rule that may be breached by any such linking...? I see links all over PS - to ebay, to craigslist, to whatever... what is so off-limits?

Hey Iota,

It could be a conflict of interest/not allowed if folks link to an item they themselves are selling.

Also if it''s the site I''m thinking of - a used jewellery website has in the past had stolen PS images used for commercial purposes - people have taken PSers personal handshots/flowershots from the eyecandy folder and used them to try to sell different rings. Image theft = not allowed.

I''m still waffeling on the ring swimmer found.

I realy like it, but the pics don''t realy show much about the ring, or the quality of the diamonds....maybe I''ll sleep on it another night?

Update:

Eek!! I won the ring swimmer showed me - I''m so excited to get it!

(I hope it''s not a total dog, the photos weren''t the greatest)

I''ve been placating my eternity ring jones with a sterling silver cz stand-in for over a year now.

It will be so nice to have the real thing

Thanks for all your shoping help ladies!

Nah, that''s not why. If that were the case, ebay wouldn''t be allow either, bc ebay sellers sure do steal a lot of photos! I was told it''s due to it being closely associated with a rival message board. It probably doesn''t help that said message board focuses on man-made gemstones.

i was surfing around that site and i just found Beau13''s avatar pic on there. the person was selling a plain wedding band and in the description it says, "NOTE..the halo style ring seen in the pics is NOT for sale, only the plain gold band seen with it is for sale". i mean, there are 2 other pics that i''m assuming is the actual band that they''re selling...did they reallly have to add her avatar pic? sheesh!

sorry, didn''t mean to thread jack! HopeDream - i really like the ring you got! can''t wait to see more pics when you get it! kudos to swimmer for finding the ring!

Pretty! Can''t wait for pics!

Update for anyone interested,

Slow shipping!

My ring''s seller is just sending my ring now so I may get it mid next week.
(It goes to a third party broker before it gets to me)

I did pay for it two weeks ago, but I guess it''s vacation time or something.

Patience is a virtue!

Cheers,

HD
