Thailand Possible Ruby? Thrift store find

Hello could use some help identifying this beautiful ring needs to be cleaned but has markings from Thailand seems like a reddish purple and I’m hoping he’s a real diamonds around it.
Any help as I’m new to this forum and could use any information on this I’m curious as to maybe what size Karat

Looks like a garnet to me.

You can see the gold plating wearing off the ring at the edges.

White stones maybe topaz. But hard to tell under the grime.

I see the price tag is $6. If you like the ring then you can’t go wrong at that price. But I can’t see it being worth much more than that frankly.

While generally not as valuable as a rubies, garnets are still be beautiful stones. Regardless of value, the ring deserves to be cleaned! It will enhance it's beauty and your enjoyment. You can start by doing it at home with a soft toothbrush and dishwashing detergent. You will be amazed at the difference. Enjoy!

I mean if you like it clean it. Should be able to do that at home with a baby tooth brush and some warm soapy water
But she real dirty. She was well loved. A steam wouldn’t hurt
