Well, after much thought, and all your good advice, I decided to put the 3 stone upgrade on hold. The truth is - I love my 3 stone. Love it. So I'm in no huge rush to change it. It will happen when it happens if it happens. While I think it's definite that I'll upgrade the sides, it may well only be in clarity and there's a good chance that the center stone will remain as is. It's a beautifully made, classy ring, and I'm very fond of it.

But in the meantime, I have another project I wanted to do.

A couple of months ago, I had *this* ring made:

And a little after that, I had *this* ring made:

20190418_172356.jpg

The first ring is a 1.4ct I SI1 soli. It's a nice ring, but it was purely a place holder for an upgrade, and I said from the day I got it "this ring won't be with me for long". And it won't be.

When I decided to put the WF upgrade on ice, I decided to go ahead with the 1.4ct upgrade through Blue Nile. A few days ago, I found the most GLORIOUS round brilliant:

https://www.bluenile.com/diamond-de...DiamondDetails&action=newTab&catalogView=true

It has *exactly* the stats I love, and I can tell from the photos that it has an excellence of cut you find occasionally but rarely on Blue Nile. So I went ahead and contacted them today about upgrading my 1.4ct diamond and I'm waiting to hear back that this stone is definitely available. If it is, I'll move on it immediately.

As for my floral ring - I love it. But ever since I got the 1.4ct diamond I've been wondering how fabulous that floral design would look with the larger diamond in it. I've wanted a soli, but not necessarily a plain soli, as they tend to look un-dressed to me. So the long and the short of it is - the new 1.76ct E VS2 is going to go into a larger re-make of the floral ring, and that will be my solitaire. It will be a substantial ring - about 2.5mm longer and wider than the one I already have (almost all in the center stone) - and will be a beautiful stand alone size, which will still have room beneath it for my Leon Mege eternity, or my Tiffany Legacy wedder, or my lovely Scott Kay platinum wedder, which was engraved so beautifully for me by award-winning engraver, Marc Williams out in PA. So that will be my soli set. I'll probably take the AVR out of the other floral setting and add something hot pink to wear in the medium term, but to ultimately give to my god-daughter one day when she's older.

I still have my AVC to set (halo of calibre cut rubies - all in yellow gold) and the cluster I'm currently working on with DKJ (Barry Bridgestock pink tourmaline in a halo of Yoram-cut OECs). I have a beautiful halo planned for my golden sapphire, (which I wasn't fond of in the 3-stone setting with cushion cut sides), and one last Christmas project as I have no Christmas jewelry whatsoever. My new OEC bracelet has been engraved, my 7 stone in platinum ring has been re-set, my golden South Sea and pearl earrings are done, and I'm working on a few last charms for my charm bracelet. One diamond bangle for my birthday next year should see me out.

And we'll see at that point if I can bring myself to touch my beloved 3 stone. Something in my gut keeps telling me "don't do it, Mrs B - don't do it. If it ain't broke...."

And for anyone interested - here are the photos Amy sent me of my now-engraved sparkly doo-dad. I'll add these to the doo-dad thread as well.

They did a wonderful job on the engraving!

As for your other projects, you're a woman with a plan and I can't wait to see how it unfolds!

whew! I can't keep up! your doodad is gorgeous. I can't wait to see this BN stone, I have to say MrsB the stone looks gorgeous, clear, and WHITE.. it's going to be a true, real knockout! Being with you on your jouney(s) in diamond and CS rings, bracelets etc makes my heart sing, nothing you have ever shown here has been anything but perfection. Love it all Mrs. B... sending healing and healthy vibes and dust and respect.

@mrs-b : I'm so glad you're listening to your gut! With fine jewelry, it's especially important to be certain about major changes. Of course it helps that you have several other fun projects to focus on! :mrgreen2: Your floral ring with upgraded center is going to be AMAZING!! Cannot wait to see!

The BN upgrade is GORGEOUS!!

I think you made a wise choice. Whenever there's a little nagging thought in my head and I'm not 100% sure of a decision, but I've gone ahead, I've regretted it.

I love you new doo dad. It's goreous! You have so many fun projects. I can't wait to see how they turn out.

I know, right?! Occasionally you see a complete stunner like this wander onto the BN web site. I tell people over and over again that they're there, if you know what to look for and you take your time.

@diamondseeker2006 - I'm linking you to this because I know you appreciate a needle in a haystack! Isn't this a beauty?!!

Yes, I had to wait a month or two to find my upgrade studs. They are there, you just have to be patient

YES!!!! It is absolutely a stone I'd buy myself! Great find!!!

@mrs-b I have been slowly parting myself from PS jewelry side for the moment, for other major house and life projects, but stopped in a for a visit today and just saw this, I love love your floral ring! its a spectacular design, and the larger center will be AMAZING and definitely a beautiful statement non-traditional piece. I have a love/hate relationship with solitaires myself. I love them, but only when I have a wedding band to pair with it, but sometimes its too much but like you, I feel a bit "undressed" for my personality so then I create a little more elaborate solitaire design, only sometimes want a tad more flare on the band, but love the feeling of a plain shanko_O as you can tell I have many mixed up feelings about all sorts of rings. :D. I hope I'm able to pop in to see your new lovely upgraded floral design.

I hear you on all your differing positions on solitaires! It's so rare that I feel as tho a solitaire his the opposing aspects of my personality!! I'm hoping this does the trick tho, so we'll see.

And @D&T - please don't disappear! I love your presence on these boards and would be so sad if you were no longer here!

Thinking of you and hopin all is well with you. ox

You are confident and you know your direction and I love that! I cannot wait to see the larger diamond...I love the 1.7 to 1.9 range. And I cannot wait to see what hot pink number you put in there! I love hot pink and have been thinking about a hot pink rhr. Thanks for keeping us posted and to hear you listening to your gut. :geek2:

Thanks, @bling_dream19! I think the larger diamond in this will look amazing. Just stunning. it will be a soli with a twist - and I love things that are classic with a hint of unusual. I'm not hugely adventurous with jewelry, but I do like things just a tad different to the norm. So this will hit all bases for me, I think. :))

Oh how exciting, @mrs-b! And yes, you truly did find a unicorn at BN! The stone looks absolutely gorgeous and I am sure the finished project will be amazing. I can hardly wait to see it!

Thanks, @carbonfan - I appreciate the support and respect your opinion. :)

Oooh I can't wait to see the end result! The bigger diamond in that spectacular setting will be absolutely breathtaking :love:

I really think it will be, @Dandi! Both the current AVR and the new round brilliant are E VS2. If I had my choice, I'd have a 1.76ct E VS2 AVR!! But that's a rare beast indeed...
